    Caldwell USD 360 • ************** USD 360 Caldwell Schools is accepting applications for a school custodian to provide a safe, attractive, comfortable and clean environment and to ensure full and productive use of district facilities. The start date for this position is January 5, 2025. This position could include second shift hours. Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times. 2. Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. 3. Shovels and treats walks and steps as appropriate. 4. Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are accessible and all panic bars are working properly. 5. Raises the United States and Kansas flags on each school day, and lowers them after school closes. 6. Sweeps and disinfects classrooms daily, dusts furniture and cleans desks. 7. Cleans corridors and multipurpose areas after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it. 8. Scrubs and disinfects restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, commons, and dressing room floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily. 9. Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary. 10. Cleans all whiteboards at least once a week. 11. Reports major repairs needed and equipment malfunctions promptly to the principal. 12. Reports immediately to the principal any damage to school property. 13. Remains on the school premises during school hours, and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by the principal. 14. Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off unless otherwise directed by the principal. 15. Keeps an inventory of supplies and equipment. Requisitions such replacements as needed from the Supervisor of Maintenance and Transportation far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the custodian in his/her duties. 16. Complies with Statutes, regulations, and Board policy procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, waste, and hazardous waste. 17. Will follow a work time schedule to ensure proper cleaning of the facility. 18. Carries out custodial duties in a manner that does not interfere with the educational program. 19. Such other duties as may from time to time be assigned to him/her by his/her supervisor. 20. Shall abide by the District policies, laws of the State of Kansas, Municipalities and the United States. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Occasionally requires climbing and balancing. Requires working in and around dust, fumes, and odors. Caldwell Elementary School-Is located on the southeast end of the school complex. The elementary houses the K-5 students in a remodeled building. The elementary has a Title I program, all-day Kindergarten, and provides after school tutoring for students. Caldwell Secondary School- Located in the middle of the school complex is the 6-12 building which was constructed in 2003. The district provides all the state required core courses, a wide variety of elective classes, and has developed a technology rich vocational program. The school has a one to one Chromebook initiative for all grade levels. Inter-distance learning is used to link Caldwell to other school districts around the state for the purpose of providing additional courses to students. CTE programs and certificate earning opportunities off campus are available. Caldwell Virtual School-Director is located on campus running credit recovery, ISS, online classes, IDL courses and monitors students in grades 6-12 that elect to enroll and get their education virtually. The school is also designed to allow adult students to earn a diploma in a nontraditional setting.
