This Opportunity WSP USA is initiating a search for a Full-time a Lead - Commissioning for our Raleigh, NC office. Other locations in NC and SC will be considered. Provides support to technical staff, engineers, and project managers to validate construction, integrity, operability, and the commissioning of building systems and facilities projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the planning, directing, coordinating, testing, and commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, and automation. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding assigned equipment configuration, optimization studies, system functional testing, readiness testing, and the transition from the construction phase to full operations. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for performance, reliability, safety, and security for building inhabitants.
Your Impact
+ Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site during various construction phases, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for project energy auditing actions, validation, and commissioning.
+ Perform professional building and system commissioning work by conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and installation or operating permits.
+ Develop and oversee configuration, testing specifications, and readiness plans; preparing and updating checklists/punch lists and cost estimates that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
+ Involved from project inception to completion for commissioning work deliverables throughout the various project work phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, integration, installation, and operation.
+ Develop and incorporate advanced technologies, monitoring, modeling techniques, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to account for the proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems according to specifications; implementing future-ready solutions with building systems operating standards.
+ Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on various design, installation, and integration issues relating to commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, and automation.
+ Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams to execute project work on mid-level and/or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, technical calculations, permit applications, schematics, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
+ Coordinate, review and approve commissioning and operational plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
+ Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross-sections, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and other 2D/3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.
+ Maintain quality control standards, document logs of control and equipment functionality testing and verification, and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, calculations, statistical analysis, and reporting.
+ Assist with development and scoping of medium- to large-sized commissioning projects.
+ Provide guidance and training to entry-level to mid-level commissioning staff.
+ Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to navigate, improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design, and/or installation/operational issues or opportunities.
+ Analyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during site assessments, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk installation, equipment operations, and/or mitigation activities.
+ Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
+ Interact with any applicable regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
+ Collaborate with other professionals, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on public and privately-funded building improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities.
+ Remain current in latest commissioning techniques and practices.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline or equivalent years of industry experience.
+ 7-10+ years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior building and systems commissioning experience.
+ Familiarity with building commissioning principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
+ Familiarity with building planning, design, and installation management; including renovation and new design.
+ Familiarity with smart building design.
+ Highly familiar with relevant building technology/system installation and/or construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
+ Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
+ Experience with discipline-specific design software (i.e., AutoCAD, Revit).
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

+ Master's Degree is preferred.
+ Essential or enhancing professional licensure/certification.
+ Interest in obtaining LEED certification desired.
+ A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $110,000 - $155,000

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Your Opportunity
Stantec's Water/Wastewater practice has an immediate opportunity for a Civil Engineer-in-Training. As a Civil EIT you will provide comprehensive engineering services to Stantec clients for a variety of infrastructure projects. The role of an entry level civil engineer is to work on projects both small and large, and as a team member under the supervision of a senior engineer. You will perform a variety of tasks related to water/wastewater collection, distribution, treatment plant and infrastructure projects that may include calculations, field work, coordination of simple tasks, meeting attendance and recording and small project management tasks. Primary experience in civil fields other than water/wastewater is not a disqualifying pre-requisite. In general, an entry level civil engineer will assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments. More experienced civil engineers will adopt a more project management approach to assignments.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned and under the supervision of a project engineer.
Assists team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports.
Assists in supporting the civil team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, contract document clarifications and construction observation.
Manage small internal/external deliverables based on experience level.
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Qualifications
"Your Capabilities and Credentials
An understanding of civil engineering concepts and analysis methods.
When managing small internal/external deliverables, an understanding of critical path items for deliverables to meet an agreed upon delivery schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material.
Basic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to travel on an as-needed basis.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
Must have taken and successfully passed the FE exam
Minimum of 0 years of experience.
Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Travel/ field work 0-25% of the time
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for most of the day. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
The role would require the EIT to be in the office full-time at the beginning of employment, moving to a hybrid role at a later date.
