This Opportunity Provides technical environmental planning assistance to minimize the environmental impacts of commercial, industrial, utility, transmission, development, infrastructure, construction, pipeline, and/or transportation related projects. Tasks may include permitting, site and impact assessment, restoration, land use management plans, public involvement, and ensuring environmental regulatory compliance. Generates accurate and concise documentation, assessing and advising on project areas by applying and integrating urban and regional planning with a focus on sustainability. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Your Impact
* Collect, identify, and compile observational, spatial, operations, and environmental data from multiple matrices for projects, research, and surveys.
* Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS data, and other visualization tools to determine exact locations of project areas, site impact, habitat types, and associated physical and wildlife sensitivities.
* Assist with preparing environmental survey reports, data entry, impact assessment, and permitting activities for assigned projects (e.g. Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act permitting, CEQA, NEPA, etc.).
* Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, demographics, patterns and trends, statistical analysis, and reporting.
* Perform professional environmental planning work and assist with conducting investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs.
* Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
* Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, field/work site notes, and software.
* Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for low to mid-level threat mitigation and permitting activities projects to minimize impacts to the health of the environment and the population.
* Assist with developing strategic planning and permitting execution strategies for clients on small- to medium-sized projects.
* Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)
* 3 to 5 years of experience working in the environmental planning field, completing environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and construction support, impact assessments, and permitting.
* Effective analytical skills and prior experience with research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species required.
* Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, permitting requirements, notification and compliance practices, and applicable Regional/State/Federal regulatory framework.
* Proficient interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
* Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
* Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
* Experience with discipline-specific software (i.e., ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up).
* Moderate proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective manner to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.

* Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
* Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience managing projects, teams, and clients.
Leading and managing project design and delivery teams; designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for facilities within the built environment. Healthcare, Federal/DOD and Life Sciences experience desired.

The Electrical Designer will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects as a team member of a larger engineering team under the guidance of a Senior Engineer/Designer. Your Opportunity
The role of Project Controls Analyst (PCA) has been established to be a valued team member, working directly with Project Managers (PMs), Project Accountants (PAs), Project Controls, and Business Center Leadership to help ensure the successful financial execution of buildings sector projects to contribute to the profitability of the company.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Gain proficient knowledge of the Oracle Project BI Management Dashboard, Integrated Project Management (IPM) & Project Update Review Service (PURS) tools and understanding and following Stantec's over-arching PM Framework processes to become a resource for Project Managers supporting project earned value management and ISO 9001 compliance.
* Provide support to develop Work Breakdown Structure for project execution and monitoring.
* Assist PM with work plan implementation, and analysis of work plan against schedule, utilizing resourcing apps as appropriate.
* Assisting with contract preparation and submission through legal compliance review and assist in requesting certificates of insurance, if necessary.
* Coordinate with subcontractors by preparing agreements, change orders, and tracking budgets.
* Assist in preparation and tracking of change order requests to Clients.
* Reviewing time and expenses charged to projects and coordinating adjustments as necessary.
* Assist PMs with their monthly financial reports and communicate billing plans to Project Accountants.
* Assist PM with tracking budget and schedule, tracking and mitigating risk, and ensuring deliverables go through proper review process.
* Reviews Client/contract invoicing requirements and ensures accuracy and completeness
* checking for adherence to rate schedules, proper PO references listed, including additional Client required reporting as necessary.
* Assist PMs with their outstanding Account Receivables - coordinating with the finance team and/or the Client as appropriate.
* Assist PMs with their estimate-to-complete (ETC) requirements as necessary utilizing tools mentioned above.
* Assist Operations Project Controls Lead in training Project Managers and identifying areas for improvement.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Strong understanding of project accounting principles, understanding project profitability and how various accounting departments work in layers within a corporation.
* Ability to read, interpret, and act upon the requirements outlined in agreements and contracts.

* Ability to manipulate data within spreadsheets, database systems and produce reports.

Education and Experience

* Prior Oracle experience would be an asset. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Pay Range:
* Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 70,000.00 - Max Salary $ 101,400.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
