Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to establish inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety. Reports "near misses" and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. contrast media and medications) or potential outcomes, as appropriate. Ensures all imaging equipment has had quality control (QC) performed as required and is in safe working order prior to use. $4k sign-on bonus The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in the positioning of the patient and examining table to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Technologist will also practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to maximize radiation protection to patient and staff. Each Radiology Technologist will operate CAT SCAN equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT scans) of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist protocol. The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for administering and consenting for contrast both IV and oral, while being aware of all possible reactions and side effects. The Radiology Technologist will also be responsible for filling out appropriate paperwork and ensuring proper documentation in patients' chart. Our Primary goal is to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, while acquiring an acceptable exam of diagnostic quality. The Radiology Technologist will also be responsible for additional patient care duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Maintains awareness of all departmental and operational policies of Altus Community Healthcare (ACH). Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA procedures Explains to Patients the benefits and risks of Procedures and Exams Prepares Patient as necessary for examination, i.e.: contrast, proper IV placements, checking labs. Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all appropriate Contrast, Extravasations, Pregnancy, and other forms related to preformed exam.
