The focus of the position is to implement the standardization of the ITS computer technology as directed by the Manager of Computing Support Services. The technician is responsible for setup and implementation of all college personal computing systems. This position is also responsible for working with the Manager of Computing Support services on development and implementation to ensure system compatibility and usefulness. The Computing Support Technician maintains and supports approximately 3500+ administrative and academic computers and printers on campus and 10 remote sites. The Technician has the responsibility of being the end user contact for the college community when they experience difficulty or having questions regarding office or lab computers. End-users supported by this position include college faculty, staff and students. The Technician also works with related outside groups, organizations and the community to foster collegiality and strategic partnerships as needed. Supervisory Responsibility: The Computing Support Technician has to assign and oversee work performed by the approximately 20 student workers and four externs. The Computing Support Technician trains student workers and externs, and schedules students to ensure labs are properly staffed. The Computing Support Technician is also responsible for interviewing and recommending candidates for externships working in college computer labs. Minimum Requirements 1. Directly related professional work experience (may be earned concurrently) in the following areas: * One year of experience in help desk phone support, and * Two years experience with desktop support, and * Two years experience with computer maintenance and hardware, computer terminology and procedures, basic methods of troubleshooting and technical assistance. The MPulse Assistant Camp Director is a temporary seasonal position that oversees the evening and weekend operations of the MPulse Summer Performing Arts Institutes at the University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre & Dance. The MPulse Assistant Camp Director has direct contact with MPulse participants, parents, faculty and Residence Life Staff, and is the emergency contact for students and parents during evening/overnight hours. The Assistant Camp Director coordinates with the Camp Director on a daily basis to ensure a seamless handling of day-to-day operations. The Assistant Camp Director is required to reside in the dormitory in a private room with a private bathroom, and will be given 4 nights-off (24 hours) throughout the duration of the program. Responsibilities* Programmatic * Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service staff training in partnership with the MPulse Program Manager and Director of Engagement & Outreach. * In collaboration with the Camp Director and MPulse Program Manager, develop a detailed schedule which includes campus life activities both at SMTD and with organizations outside SMTD, including the required transportation. * Prepare and manage the placement of appropriate signage in the dormitory and outdoors. * Post-program, supervise and ensure the clean-up of MPulse supplies and materials in Residence Halls: * Dispose of all trash. * Ensure all MPulse materials are removed. * Collect all indoor and outdoor directional signs. * Collect all recycled materials and other donated items. * Store all supplies and equipment in the Youth and Adult Program Offices. * Provide a written and electronic inventory of all supplies and equipment stored. * Collect and return all required housing badges and/or forms. * Supervise evening operations of the program, including daily meeting with camp staff. * Be present for and supervise program move-in & move-out in the residence hall on Saturdays and Sundays as detailed by the schedule. * Communicate with U-M Housing Staff to ensure student keys are properly assigned and functional. * Monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures. * Monitor and report about student safety, and safety procedures related to the complete supervision of campers and staff. * Oversee shuttle service day of, to and from campus, and all check-in procedures. * Collect and maintain records for any completed incident or accident reports. * Communicate with the Camp Director regarding any behavioral interventions involving campers or staff. * Reside in U-M residence hall at all times unless approved by camp leadership. * Other duties as assigned. Personnel Management * Provide on-going leadership and support to counseling staff. * Supervision of counseling staff on weekends and evenings. * Inform Camp Director and MPulse Program Manager of concerns regarding temporary staff. * Inform Camp Director of requested time off for counselors. * Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with parents, participants, counselors, MPulse faculty and staff, and U-M Housing staff. * Provide coverage in the event of a counselor's inability to perform their duties. * Defers to Camp Director and E&O Administrative Staff for all policy decisions. Job Summary Department Summary: University Health and Counseling (UHC) provides comprehensive, public-health informed preventative and clinical services (counseling?individual, group, relationships; 14 different medical services and specialties, nursing, pharmacy, diagnostic services), mental health promotion, education, training, outreach, and postvention to the U-M campus community (students, faculty, staff, retirees and guests). An actively merging unit of two accredited departments?University Health Service (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care/AAAHC) and Counseling & Psychological Services (International Association of Counseling Services/IACS)?with >220 staff and trainees, UHC provides coordinated, integrated care within the same electronic health record (Epic?/MiChart) as Michigan Medicine (MM), where many community members also receive emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care (e.g., MM emergency departments, inpatient services, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, and specialist ambulatory care). UHC operates in two primary locations (Michigan Union, 530 S. State St.; University Health Service, 207 Fletcher St.) as well as in embedded counselor offices in 18 schools/colleges across central and north campus. UHC is a unit of U-M Student Life (SL) and reports to the SL Associate Vice President for Health & Wellbeing and up to the Vice President of Student Life, who is a U-M Executive Officer (EO). Position Summary: CAPS is seeking applicants for adjunct counseling positions that would be located either in our Central office or at specific schools/colleges on our campus.
