Many people have become better acquainted with their oven during quarantine.

While yeast and bread makers sold out, people aren’t just using their ovens to make bread. Many are comfort baking and making sweets. After all, what better time to bake (and eat) an Apple Crumble than when the world is crumbling?

We analyzed Google Trends to find what baked good residents of each state are baking more than anywhere else. Keep reading to see what each state is baking and piling on their plate more than anywhere else.

HOW WE DETERMINED THIS

Using Google Trends, we determined which states were the most avid fans of each dessert.

We examined 300+ different desserts, covering the most common and beloved sweets, along with regional favorites. Sadly, since this article is focused on baked goods we excluded some great, cold treats- like ice cream! However, it ended up being a pretty comprehensive list of all things sugary and baked. Odds are good we covered your favorite. Note, we did not select each state’s favorite dessert (what they search the most), but what they are searching more than any other state.

Some states are baking more than others (Vermont!), while others like Nevada barely had one favorite dish. Our quarantine period was April 1st to August 1st, giving us 4 months of baking to examine.

You can see a table breakdown of the most interesting dessert each state is baking the most below:
