Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Project Manager for immediate employment in either Baton Rouge or New Orleans, Louisiana. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate an establish career in Transportation Engineering including roadway. This position will be responsible for Managing the planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure. In this role, the Project Manager will manage small or medium size projects and serve as a Deputy Project Manager on large projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. * Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. * Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. * Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project. Job Description AECOM has an opening for an entry-level Geologist in our Baton Rouge/Lake Charles, Louisiana office to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations, and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both field and office settings. Field activities include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and oversight of subcontractors (laboratories, excavation, and drilling companies). Office activities involve preparation of investigation reports. This position is expected to begin in March 2026. Candidates must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. A driller trainee will assist the crew chief in solid auger and rotary drilling techniques. The trainee will help move, set up and operate drill rigs and related equipment to drill test holes for geotechnical engineering studies. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on sites to be developed as building, roadways and bridges. Work is outdoors. The work is generally physically demanding. However, safety is in our work is an uncompromised value and we are proud of our safety record. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in drilling operations. * Expedite field supplies. * Perform duties at multiple job sites. * Perform yard duties at direction of supervisor. * Assist in measuring test boring locations * Load and unload trucks. * Smoothly and quickly connect and disconnect the lower parts of the drill pipe when it is being lowered into and raised from the hole. * Catch samples of drilled cuttings to be analyzed. * Clean and maintain equipment. * Help move drilling rig and equipment from site to site and set up. * Dig and clean mud pits and drains. * Assist with well development and pumping tests. * Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, and equipment and tools used to correct problems in drilled holes caused by mechanical breakdowns or by harmful natural conditions. * Carry out minor maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning. * Perform other duties as assigned. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to acquire a Professional Engineering license. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform entry-level professional engineering work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks through effective mentorship. Work within the Highway group on the design of civil engineering projects, including local roadways, rural and urban highways, and freeways. Collaborate with design teams consisting of multidisciplinary design engineers and technicians. Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks , including preparing engineering-related calculations, drawings, and visual aids. Assist Project Team by providing engineering design support (engineering reports, design calculations, quantity and cost estimates) for roadway, hydraulics, and civil engineering design projects. Builds analytic and design skills. Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred. AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS experience. Experience designing highway/roadway and storm drainage systems preferred. Experience in designing traffic signal installations.
