Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), including review of care plans, co-signing documentation, and providing ongoing mentorship.

* Greeting patients following Conifer Standards of Care, provides world-class customer service, completes full patient registration at date of service adheres to financial & cash control policies & procedures, thoroughly explains and secures Hospital & patient legal forms (i.e., Advance Directives, Conditions of services, Consent for treatment, Important Message from Medicare, EMTALA, etc.). Scan Protected Health Information, create and file patient information packets/folders for upcoming Hospital services. May also assist with scheduling diagnostic or surgical procedures, conducting physician office/patient interviews, and explains hospital procedure guidelines and policies.
* Provides full patient financial counseling, education & referrals, employs and completes all patient liability collection escalations through proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during & after date of service, performs Hospital cash reconciliation & secured payment entry in adherence to financial & cash control policies & procedures.
* Secures medical necessity checks/verification in accordance to Centers for Medicare & Medicare services, verifies insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility, completes assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities, obtains insurance authorizations for scheduled & unscheduled Hospital services, and secures inpatient visit notification to payors.
* Performs thorough analysis of admission discharge transfers (ADT), Revenue Cycle Reports, leads shift Patient Access Operations, and collaborates with Department leaders in process and operational excellence.

As an CMA/RMA, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:
* Prepares patients for examinations, testing and procedures.
* Obtains measurements of vital signs, height, and weight and records medical history.
* Assists the physician/nurse with examination and treatment of patient.
* Administers medication orally and intra-dermal, subcutaneous or intra-muscular injections as applicable to state law or regulations.
* Finger sticks, nasal swaps, and albuterol treatments
* Performs clerical and administrative activities as assigned.
* Performs electrocardiograms (ECG), assists with x-ray procedures, and assistants in minor surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the physician.
* Completes other assignments as requested and assigned.
* May have access to personal health information ("PHI") necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Access to use and ability to disclose PHI is further defined by each organization/department.

A few must-haves for our CMA/RMA:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistants program. Programs are accredited thru CAAHEP Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and ABHES Accrediting Bureau of Health Education schools.
* Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Registration through the certifying Board of the American Medical Technologists, RMA/CMA Certification Required
* Three (3) year experience as a Medical Assistant. Pediatric experience strongly preferred
* Must provide a valid driver's license and auto insurance

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications
* License or Certification:
* Must be qualified to independently complete an assessment within the scope of practice of his/her discipline (for example, RN, SW, OT, PT, ST, and Rehabilitation Counseling).
* If licensure is required for one's discipline within the state, individual must hold an active license.
* Must meet eligibility requirements for CCM or ACM certification upon entry into this position OR within two years of entry into the position.
* CCM or ACM certification required OR must be obtained within two years of being placed in the Case Manager II position.
* Minimum Qualifications:

As an CMA/RMA, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:
Prepares patients for examinations, testing and procedures.
Obtains measurements of vital signs, height, and weight and records medical history.

Administers medication orally and intra-dermal, subcutaneous or intra-muscular injections as applicable to state law or regulations.
