SCOPE OF DUTIES
Summary: Under the supervision of the Birth-to-Three Manager(s), or designee, provides
services to children in ASD's Birth-to-Three Program. Works collaboratively
with Early Childhood Services' supervisors, staff, ASD Preschool, and ASD
Family Education Services staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Makes regular home visits to children and families on a 12-month basis.
Works with families and team members to develop and implement Individual
Family Service Plans.
Conducts evaluations and annual assessments.
Writes reports and completes paperwork according to ASD and CT Birth-to-
Three requirements.
Participates in trainings and meetings.
May assist with Family Education Services to include Family Learning
Weekend.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with Deaf/Hard-of-hearing children and their families,
ages Birth-to-Three, preferred.
Willingness to complete training in CT State Birth-to-Three requirements.
Experience with different language and communication modalities including:
ASL, Aural/Oral, Auditory and Verbal, preferred.
Willingness to travel throughout the state and work flexible hours.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Monitor cameras and fire alarms.
Perform fire drills and lockdown drills as required.
Perform monthly checks of other devices to include, but not limited to, emergency lighting, exterior lighting. Report any deficiencies via email to the Assistant Director of Operations and the Security Chief. Submit SchoolDude to Plant Operations.
Handle transport needs of staff and students requiring medical assistance to the SHC.
Assist staff and/or students during emergencies.
Provide written reports of any unusual activities using the Daily Activity Report and, when necessary, the Incident Report.
Monitor areas in buildings or outside when used by staff or particularly outside organizations. Secure building areas when events are finished and the area is vacated.
Report through emails and/or SchoolDudes all exit, stairway and exterior lights in need of repair.
Report any unusual conditions such as loss of power, heat, telephone, fire alarms, etc. to the Director of Plant Operations or his assistant immediately. Also, notify the Assistant Director of Operations.
Responsible for covering weekend and holiday shifts. Should also be willing to accept other shifts as needed (i.e. coverage for vacation/sick leave time, etc.).
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Perform monthly equipment checks as directed by the Security Co-Chiefs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources or designee, the HR Assistant aids with and facilitates the human resources processes. The position assures that HR activities comply with laws and regulations and are in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry and participating in typical annual HR-led employee events.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks and reference gathering.
Manages the termination process by notifying key employees in the school, transferring employee file and related documentation from active files to terminated files, and other related administrative functions.
Assists with recruitment and interview process as needed.
Assumes ownership of making employee changes in HRIS (such as address changes, etc.) through current notification process.
Manages routine employee questions and needs, such as verifications of employment.
Owns the employee pictures auditing function, ensuring employee pictures are entered into HRIS and Blackbaud in a timely manner.
Performs various HR tracking maintenance of employee data including (but not limited to) employee licenses, certifications, educational updates, CT Hired notifications, National Crime Search, etc.
Ensures consistency in data entered into HRIS (such as employee titles).
Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
Files documents into appropriate employee files.

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Life, or designee, the Dean of Students, is responsible for managing the residential life program for a number of behaviorally involved deaf, and hard of hearing students, and our students in the Autism expansion program. Responsible for supervision of Residential Counselors and residential programming. This management position plans and directs an educationally enriching program.
Primary Duties
Implement a residential life curriculum that provides recreational experiences, life experiences, practical living skills, informal counseling, and appropriate behavioral models and intervention to behaviorally involved, deaf and hard of hearing young students, and students in the Autistic Expansion program.
Supervision of Residential Counselor staff, including participation in interviewing candidates for employment, conducting staff evaluations, making recommendations for personnel actions, and devising work schedules and assignments and planning and carrying into staff development.
Responsible for the oversight of staff who supervise students in the residential program.
Oversight of implementation of behavior management system, including protective holds as needed.
Evaluation of student progress and preparation of progress reports as required by school policy and state regulatory agencies.
Meet regularly with program director and program staff to review student progress, schedule, and program goals and collaborate with others as needed.
Work cooperatively with support staff and consultants in planning and implementing milieu approach in the residence.
Work cooperatively with Director of Student Life, counseling staff and program supervisor in implementing effective education curriculum.
Plan, attend and participate in school, department and parent meetings, develop and implement parent communication program, house visitation program and parent sign language program.
Attend and participate in in-service training programs provided by program and school.
Availability during off-hours to answer company cell phone calls and/or texts to collaborate effectively with other Deans and Associate Directors on program needs.

SCOPE OF DUTIES
As a member of the audiology department, completes responsible work in identifying, appraising, and interpreting communication disorders of hearing, performs appropriate programming of assistive listening technology, and fulfills related work as required.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Provide audiological outreach services to mainstream educational programs per contract requirements with each individual district.
Makes recommendations regarding appropriate assistive listening technology, classroom accommodations, and other classroom needs based on individual student profiles.
Provides in-service training to educational teams to meet the needs of individual students.
Maintains appropriate records.
Maintains contact with manufacturers of audiological equipment to ensure knowledge of current practices and products.
Participates in and makes recommendations for IEP/504 meetings.
Supports on campus needs at the American School for the Deaf based on school and department needs. These duties may include but are not limited to: educational audiological evaluation, hearing aid repair, fabrication of ear molds, CI mapping, hearing aid programming, IEP team participation, staff training, assistive listening technology management and maintenance, early intervention support.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Au.D.) from a recognized college or university.
Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Most possess or be eligible to obtain a State of Connecticut Department of Public Health License in Audiology.
Considerable and demonstrated knowledge of audiology methods and techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders of hearing which may also involve speech, language, and other disorders.
Operating knowledge of audiometric instruments.
Skills in American Sign Language (ASL) are preferred but not required.
Additional abilities include: working with children and adults; interpersonal skills; organizational and record keeping skills; and written communication skills.

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for assessing and maintaining electrical components. The Electrician will be expected to identify any current concerns/issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with the safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Ability to look at electrical blueprints and scan them for issues/concerns.
Ability to assess electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems to ensure correct installation.
Ability to identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components.
Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels).
Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
Ability to utilize testing devices to identify and report electrical problems.
Monthly inspections of Building Electrical Systems including Emergency, exit lighting and Gfi receptacles.
On-call during heating season and on a rotating schedule with co-workers.
Works with outside vendors on system repairs and servicing.
Assists with preventative maintenance to include a system of overview.
Work with Facilities Manager to develop and maintain a provider maintenance plan
Assists with weather emergencies.
Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Summary:

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, maintains all building equipment and related components at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT and Camp Isola Bella, in Salisbury CT. Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, etc., on all plumbing systems and components of both locations.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, must be available for on-call rotations, after hour emergencies and snow removal. Occasional weekends for special events.

SCOPE OF DUTIES:
The Athletic Director will be responsible for guiding and coordinating all activities of both the After School (ASP) and Athletics Programs. The Director will work with the Associate Director(s) of Student Life and the Dean(s) of Students in creating structured activities for the residential students for both PACES and Core Programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Athletics:
Prepares a budget for athletics and allocates spending on items such as coaches' stipends, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility maintenance.
This position will supervise and evaluate the coaches and additional staff under both programs.
Promotes and facilitates PBIS practices in both programs.
Works with Human Resources in hiring the staff for both Programs.
Coordinates with coaches about the scheduling of games and practices.
Ensures the coaches have shared results with certain media outlets as well as various departments at ASD to include the Weekly Newsletter.
Collaborates with athletic associations and leagues about scheduling issues, rules and handbook/guidelines.
Attends athletic association(s) meetings, conferences, and events as a representative of ASD.
Determines the time allocated for a field, court, and/or the weight room.
Lead the planning in collaboration with the coaches to plan the athletic trips.
Secure and coordinate the officials and umpires at games/ budget accordingly for their pay.
File reports on the status of each team and the team's successes as well as opportunities for growth.
Mediate any disputes (between athletes v athletes, coaches v athletes and coaches v coaches).
Conduct evaluations of coaches and ASP staff.
Establish and coordinate clinics/ strength and conditioning programs.
Travel with athletic teams to tournaments as needed.
Expand and maintain elementary athletics programs within the school.
Will immediately report all accidents/incidents occurring on and off campus to Associate Director(s) of Student Life.
After School Programs (ASP):
Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate after school activities with after school staff.

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Security Co-Chiefs or their designee, will conduct continual tours throughout the grounds and buildings to ensure overall security of the campus.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Monitor cameras and fire alarms.
Perform fire drills and lockdown drills as required.
Perform monthly checks of other devices to include, but not limited to, emergency lighting, exterior lighting. Report any deficiencies via email to the Assistant Director of Operations and the Security Chief. Submit SchoolDude to Plant Operations.
Handle transport needs of staff and students requiring medical assistance to the SHC.
Assist staff and/or students during emergencies.
Provide written reports of any unusual activities using the Daily Activity Report and, when necessary, the Incident Report.
Monitor areas in buildings or outside when used by staff or particularly outside organizations. Secure building areas when events are finished and the area is vacated.
Report through emails and/or SchoolDudes all exit, stairway and exterior lights in need of repair.
Report any unusual conditions such as loss of power, heat, telephone, fire alarms, etc. to the Director of Plant Operations or his assistant immediately. Also, notify the Assistant Director of Operations.
Responsible for covering weekend and holiday shifts. Should also be willing to accept other shifts as needed (i.e. coverage for vacation/sick leave time, etc.).
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Perform monthly equipment checks as directed by the Security Co-Chiefs.
Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources or designee, the HR Assistant aids with and facilitates the human resources processes. The position assures that HR activities comply with laws and regulations and are in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry and participating in typical annual HR-led employee events.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks and reference gathering.
Manages the termination process by notifying key employees in the school, transferring employee file and related documentation from active files to terminated files, and other related administrative functions.
Assists with recruitment and interview process as needed.
Assumes ownership of making employee changes in HRIS (such as address changes, etc.) through current notification process.
Manages routine employee questions and needs, such as verifications of employment.
Owns the employee pictures auditing function, ensuring employee pictures are entered into HRIS and Blackbaud in a timely manner.
Performs various HR tracking maintenance of employee data including (but not limited to) employee licenses, certifications, educational updates, CT Hired notifications, National Crime Search, etc.
Ensures consistency in data entered into HRIS (such as employee titles).
Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
Files documents into appropriate employee files.
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
Manages the employee expense reimbursement process, assuring all required documentation is received and complete, and coordinates with Business Office team for payment.
Keeps abreast of changing HR landscape and communicates changes in a timely fashion (such as I9 process changes, etc.).
Responsible for printing all new hire documentation results for the new hire file such as physical, tuberculosis results, etc. Proactively notifies various HR team members in timely manner about items not completed in anticipation of start date.
Along with all members of the HR Department, assists with preparation for employee file review by various licensing and accreditation bodies.
Handles miscellaneous HR needs such as responding to verifications of employment, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for assessing and maintaining electrical components. The Electrician will be expected to identify any current concerns/issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with the safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Ability to look at electrical blueprints and scan them for issues/concerns.
Ability to assess electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems to ensure correct installation.
Ability to identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components.
Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels).
Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
Ability to utilize testing devices to identify and report electrical problems.
Monthly inspections of Building Electrical Systems including Emergency, exit lighting and Gfi receptacles.
On-call during heating season and on a rotating schedule with co-workers.

Assists with preventative maintenance to include a system of overview.
