Several days later, Miss Jaques delivered a total of $25,000 worth of bonds to the doctor to build such a hospital. It opened in May 1884.
Through the vision and charity of Miss Anna Jaques, the hospital was established in 1884 with a $25,000 gift.
Plans began to take shape and three years later in 1904 the Georgian Revival building that stands to this day was opened at 25 Highland Avenue in Newburyport.
