Role:
The Senior Software Engineer, Data will own the architecture, implementation, and evolution of Acquisition.com's core data infrastructure, with a primary focus on finance, people, and legal data domains. This role is responsible for transforming data from a wide range of internal and external systems into trusted, well-modeled assets that power our corporate dashboards and decision-making.
You will operate in a lean, high-ownership environment, taking data initiatives from concept to production. Your work will sit at the intersection of raw operational data and executive-level insight, making complex systems simple, reliable, and actionable.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain robust, automated data pipelines using modern ETL and ELT tools, including Fivetran for ingestion and dbt for transformation and orchestration.
Model and optimize data in Snowflake to support analytics, operational reporting, and automation, particularly for finance, people, and legal teams.
Ensure data reliability through automated quality checks, monitoring, observability, and lineage visibility.
Build reusable abstractions, libraries, and internal frameworks, primarily in TypeScript and SQL, to support scalable ingestion and transformation of structured and unstructured data.
Partner closely with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver consistent, executive-ready insights through tools such as Metabase and a centralized corporate dashboard.
Leverage AWS and infrastructure as code to manage data storage, compute, and deployment workflows in a secure and scalable way.
Continuously evolve data architecture to meet changing needs around performance, scale, governance, security, and compliance.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience building and scaling modern data infrastructure in production environments.
Strong experience designing and operating ETL and ELT workflows, ideally with Fivetran and dbt, in distributed data systems.
Expert level SQL skills and proficiency in at least one general-purpose language, with strong preference for TypeScript. Python or Scala experience is also valuable.
Deep knowledge of Snowflake, analytical data modeling, and dbt best practices.
Experience working with AWS, infrastructure as code, CI CD pipelines, and monitoring and alerting systems.
Familiarity with agent-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, or strong interest in adopting AI-assisted development workflows.
Experience supporting analytics and reporting use cases, ideally using Metabase.

What You'll Do
Lead all testing for our React Native mobile app and Go backend services.
Build and maintain automated test frameworks (E2E, integration, regression, API).
Set up and manage automation tools (Detox, Appium, Playwright, Postman/Newman, CI pipelines).
Work closely with the U.S. product team and China engineering team to ensure smooth releases across time zones.
Write scripts, tools, and small utilities to speed up development and testing.
Investigate bugs, reproduce issues reliably, and help pinpoint root causes.
Contribute lightweight coding support when needed (TypeScript for RN, basic Go debugging).
Own the release validation process for iOS TestFlight builds.
Help shape our testing culture, standards, and long-term QA automation strategy.
What We're Looking For
Bilingual Chinese/English proficiency is a must due to close collaboration with our China engineering team.
BS or MS in Computer Science from a U.S. 4-year university.
2-6 years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or software engineering roles.
Solid coding ability in TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python.
Experience testing mobile apps, ideally React Native.
Experience with Detox, Appium, or other mobile automation tools.
Strong skills in API testing and backend validation.
Comfort reading Go code (no need to be a Go developer, but you should not be afraid of it).
Experience working in fast-moving startup environments where people wear multiple hats.
Enjoys taking ownership of problems and closing the loop.
Nice to Have
Experience building CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
Prior experience in game testing, fintech apps, or consumer mobile products
Familiarity with iOS release pipelines
