About this Role:
As a Nail Apprentice, you will train under a nail technician trainer for up to six weeks, learning our brand and service standards, while perfecting your craft .

Position Purpose
This position requires moderately heavy laboring work in all kinds of weather, principally outdoors. Perform assigned tasks as a fully qualified Lineworker 1st Class. This position covers all phases of transmission and overhead distribution linework including substation construction and maintenance. Work on energized wires up to and including approximately 15kV between conductors. Advancement to Lead Lineworker will be determined by the individual employee's ability to understand and be proficient in all phases of linework expected of a Lineworker 1st Class. This position falls under the Department of Transportation drug testing requirements.
Principal Accountabilities

Project Oversight and Coordination: Provides oversight, coordination of, equipment and material required to accomplish project associated with electrical facilities.
Have a complete working knowledge of Electric Operations & Maintenance Procedures, Company Construction Standards, Policy and Procedures, and Safety Rules.
Have the ability to complete required field paperwork to provide records of work completed; operation, maintenance, motor vehicle records, accurate time records, and other records which are required or could be required in the future.
Investigate electric service trouble calls and make necessary corrective repairs to restore electric service.
Perform maintenance to streetlighting system.
Assist in underground construction and maintenance and all work in connection with the construction of high voltage lines de-energized; including sagging of conductors and connections of transformers, meters, regulators and other similar electrical equipment.
Leadership: Fosters a work environment of commitment and achievement, setting high performance standards. Leads by example; demonstrates a commitment to Unitil's Core Principles.
When upgraded by temporary or permanent assignment to Lead Lineworker, assume all duties and responsibilities required of that classification
Teaches methods and procedures involved in all phases of linework, as well as substation work, to lineworkers in training positions in efforts to develop a highly skilled and safety conscience work force.
Communicates to supervisors and fellow workers, any concerns and suggestion for improvements that support company strategic plans and goals.

Qualifications for Apprentice Lineworker
High School diploma or equivalent;
Must obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License in accordance with UWUA / B.U.W. Local Union #B340 contractual agreement.
Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool
Must reside within a specified geographic area in accordance with UWUA / B.U.W. Local Union #B340 contractual agreement.
Be available for duties during times of system emergencies and trouble calls.
Qualifications for Lineworker 1st Class
High School diploma or equivalent
Fully qualified as a Line Worker 2nd Class
Requires CDL and Driver Qualification File
Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool
Massachusetts 1B/2A Hoisting Engineers License

Most of our work is conducted during normal business hours Monday through Friday, but we are a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year business. Therefore, technicians do need to be available 24 hours a day when on call which is on a rotating basis; typically, one week on and three weeks off.
Experience in the industry or other trades/construction/laborer is a plus, but not a requirement. Service in the armed service is also desired, but not a requirement. We have had great success converting people from the hospitality industry, you know customer service; we can teach you how to swing a hammer.
At times our apprentices get wet and dirty, work in attics, and basements with sewage. We provide appropriate personal protection equipment, but our apprentices cannot be afraid of getting dirty. It can be hard, yet rewarding work as we help people get back in their homes and businesses.
Everyone starts as an entry level restoration apprentice but the best apprentices can rise up to senior lead technician position. Our top senior lead technician have a total compensation package over $60,000 per year.
Appearance is very important, we need to make homeowners feel comfortable. Strict uniform standards must be adhered to; PuroClean provides all uniform items and provides a stipend for new boots annually.

The Big Task
Support HVAC Service Techs in the maintenance, operation and repair of HVAC systems.
Key Sub Tasks
• Assist Lead HVAC Technician to complete all general in-home, service calls.
• Assist Lead HVAC Technician in troubleshooting and repair.
• Keep Technician's truck, job site clean and organized.
• Maintain high level of motivation and “Can Do” attitude.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Trust 1 Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the install and servicing of plumbing, heating, and cooling units, following all applicable codes, under the direction of a technician. The Apprentice is also responsible for learning the plumbing, heating and cooling professions by participating in on the job training, attending educational courses, training, and following the coaching and teaching of the Technician and/or Managers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides basic plumbing, heating, cooling and drain cleaning support services for customers at the direction of a technician.
Develops basic knowledge of plumbing, heating, and cooling principles through on the job learning, courses/trainings and reading of educational materials during downtimes on the job site.
Develops basic knowledge of service tools and testing devices.
Develops soldering skills to support the Technician.
Develops skills to perform planned maintenance on residential systems with assistance of a technician.
Installs hang stickers and valve tags, as well as distributes flyers in the surrounding area as instructed by the Technician.
Responds to all forms of communications, including voicemails and emails, by the end of business the same day received.
Assists Technicians in maintaining clean, neat vehicles and job sites and projects a clean, well-groomed professional appearance always.
Attends group meetings and training, as needed. Participates in monthly and special company meetings, as appropriate.
Works with Technicians, Service Manager, and Install Manager to mutually establish performance improvements and seek out ongoing education/training opportunities.
Uses good judgment and self-control in areas wherein the company entrusts him to maintain company and customer confidentiality.
Sets an example in being punctual and dependable. Reports to work promptly. Responds immediately to emergency calls during back-up “on-call” shift.
Perform other duties as assigned. This may include performing duties that are outside of the scope of normal job duties.
Establish a sound positive work relationship with all members of the Trust 1 team. Must be able to listen and implement all suggested feedback received.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Prior plumbing, heating and/or cooling experience with a service company preferred.
Ability to take direction and engage in continuous learning.
