Work will be in Hartford County and surrounding areas. The Traffic Control Apprentice is responsible for maintaining the flow of traffic around construction zones, maintenance projects, accidents, or other temporary traffic disruption areas. This role ensures the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by maintaining proper traffic control and following all safety guidelines and regulations. As a Traffic Control Apprentice, you will be our front line for safety. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using handheld signs, paddles, or flags Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control work zones including signs, barricades, and cones according to project requirements and regulations Communicate clearly with drivers to provide guidance and ensure safe traffic flow Monitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate and respond to potential safety hazards Coordinate with supervisors and other team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication equipment Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Warn workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment as needed Perform other work-related duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS: Being a Team Player. The Final Inspection Apprentice position is primarily responsible for inspecting and recording dimensions of aerospace components per process sheets, Inspection reports, Blueprints and applicable specifications utilizing specified gages and methods to ensure the quality requirements are met prior to presenting the final aerospace component to the customers. This position will assist with the performance of routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision. Adamah Apprentices support farm production at the Adamah Fellowship in Falls Village, CT. The fellowship is a three-month residential farming program for young adults building Jewish community on the land. Apprentices are paid staff with experience in agriculture who work with the Adamah Farm Director to lead fellows in farm production. The apprenticeship runs from April-November at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, CT. Compensation includes full-time minimum hourly wage plus free onsite housing and utilities, food from the farm and access to educational opportunities.
