About this Role
Step two will introduce the Apprentice to energized secondary work, de-energized primary framing, and bucket truck operation. Step two Apprentice may perform energized secondary work (up to 480 Volts) while being directly supervised by a Lineman or Foreman. The person supervising must be at the same physical location as the Apprentice (on the pole with or in the bucket with/adjacent to). Step two Apprentice may not be within reach or extended reach of the minimum approach distance of any energized primary conductor or equipment while working aloft.

POSITION PURPOSE
· EMM Apprentice will report directly to a Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Manager, however, this position will also work closely with management to maintain customer requirements and satisfaction while verifying that the company's goals and standards are met.
· This position will be responsible for accurately monitoring components on an assigned route within an industrial facility. The LDAR Technician will also be responsible for calibrating equipment to ensure optimum performance of the analyzer, as well as identify leaks and process leak tags.
· The EMM Apprentice must use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to develop effective partnerships to meet mutual goals and objectives, demonstrating a strong ability to analyze data, evaluate situations and identify problems or opportunities, including likely causes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
· Reporting any and all incidents, injuries, near misses, motor vehicle or any other unsafe condition or acts to supervisor and the Safety Department regardless of how minor they are.
· Responsible for monitoring components in an industrial environment to detect emissions from process equipment using a portable analyzer and electronic data collector
· Performs monitoring activities for an assigned route with an allotted amount of time, ensuring all components are accurately monitored and reported.
· Responsible for calibrating equipment to ensure optimum performance. Makes minor mechanical adjustments when situations arise.
· Identifying leaks and process leak tags.
· Completing daily upload of monitoring activity to the customer database and completes daily emissions monitoring reports- must have basic computer knowledge.
· Communicating daily leaks or potential issues with site personnel.
· Communicating/coordinating with plant personnel.
· Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Must be at least 18 years old, have high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
· One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Basic PC Skills with particular emphasis on MS Office Suite (Word, Excel); Prior experience using a PDA device with the ability to download data to a database is preferred. Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not necessary.

Responsibilities
Assist with the installation, repair, maintenance and testing of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems in full support of Bergelectric Corp. safety, operations and productivity initiatives.
Use industry related hand tools and power tools, under supervision.
Assist the Electrician with measuring, cutting, bending, threading and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
Assist the Electrician with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.
Work with an Electrician to splice and terminate wires at junction points.
Clean, gather and transport materials to electricians on the construction site.
Communicate effectively with Foremen and crew members.
Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Bergelectric Corp. productivity objectives are met.

Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled or working on enrollment in an approved Apprentice program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
