Job Summary:
The Processing Assistant supports the Production Technician and overall processing operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production of confectionery products. This role assists with ingredient staging, equipment preparation, and product handling while maintaining compliance with company safety, food safety, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Production Technician in setting up and operating processing equipment for daily production runs.
Stage, weigh, and transport ingredients as directed, following established formulations and batch records.
Monitor material flow to maintain continuous production and communicate issues promptly to the Production Technician or Supervisor.
Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to sanitation and GMP standards.
Support changeovers and cleanouts between product runs, ensuring allergen control and documentation accuracy.
Assist in recording basic production data such as material usage, lot numbers, and process observations.
Observe all safety and food safety protocols, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and plant operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in food manufacturing or production preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment operation.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment involving heat, noise, and standing for extended periods.

Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects.
Reads and interprets production schedules.

Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc.
Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks.
Qualifications
As the selected candidate, you will need a high school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents and instructions, in addition to the following:
Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules, etc.

Review the work order for any special instructions.

Request a production assembly drawing from your lead person, supervisor or inspector when one is required.
Inspect all parts as they are being used.
Flanges ( the joint between the body and cover ) must be inspected 100% with a .0015 feeler gage. The gage can go no deeper than 1/8 max.
Check for porosity, torn threads, bad paint, missing features etc.
Per instructions from your routings, drawings, lead person or supervisor.
Lubricate all indicated threaded areas.
Remove nonconforming or questionable material to designated areas until a determination can be made.

Clear your work area and put all consumable parts in their place after completing each work order.
Return special tools, equipment and drawings to where they belong.
