The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for supporting an environment that promotes relationship building with clients, peers and business partners in order to support the Branch Manager in leading a high performance team to meet and exceed client service, sales and financial goals. This position includes supporting the Branch Manager in actively managing risks by adhering to internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and following sound, ethical banking practices. May manage an existing portfolio of clients and are responsible for opening deposit and loan products on demand, as well as proactive business development focused on Mass Affluent, Emerging Market and Target Market clients for their core banking needs. Participates in community activities to establish relationships to enhance new and existing business opportunities. The Assistant Branch Manager serves as manager when the Branch Manager is unavailable or offsite. This is a developmental position that may lead to a Branch Manager role. Annual achievement of goals will be delivered through consistent execution of Johnson Financial Group's vision and core values.

Proactively advise consumer and business clients in their selection of deposit accounts, loans and other products and financial services resulting in additional accounts and expanded relationships.

Actively pursues cross-sell opportunities based on identified client needs. May include external business development responsibilities.

Acts as a mentor to support, guide and role model branch associates in development of client relationships and may also include acting as primary point of contact for assigned portfolio of clients to acquire, deepen and retain relationships.

Identify and successfully refer clients and prospects to appropriate business partners resulting in expanded relationships in other lines of business.

Meet or exceed individual goals for new loans, deposit accounts and referrals; utilize various reports to monitor and report on progress.
Contribute to achievement of revenue goals, while maintaining pricing discipline. Effectively and consistently use the JFG Customer Relationship Management system as the primary tool for managing client relationships. Remain familiar with competitor products, services and pricing; understands and uses techniques with clients to compare and contrast JFG products and services. Respond to client inquiries and concerns and provide positive solutions. Assist clients with account maintenance, documentation, disputes and other required paperwork utilizing technology and resources available. Adhere to established operational procedures and controls for security and safety policies.
Cash Handling Key Responsibilities
Assist branch associates in handling transactions and escalated issues. Accurately cash checks, process deposits, withdrawals and cash advances for consumer and business clients. Confirm identification for of client and determine that all necessary documents are in proper form and within authorized limits prior to processing transactions. Balance cash drawer daily and verifies cash provided from/returned to the vault. Issue official checks, traveler's checks, gift cards, and other instruments and process tax payments, change orders, foreign currency, loan payments, and safe deposit box payments. Process various reports as required by branch. Properly scan work in a timely and accurate manner. Perform safe deposit duties. Perform other branch operations and service-related Assist in opening and closing the branch and vault daily; assist in balancing vault currency and coin; balances ATM. Maintain knowledge of security and safety policies and strictly adhere to established procedures, follow established internal and dual control standards to mitigate risk to our clients and JFG.
Coaching and Management
Assist in the sales management activities with Branch Manager to coach the branch team to grow whole client relationship by proactively expanding new and existing relationships by advising and recommending appropriate solutions that will exceed client expectations. Key components may include conducting weekly individual coaching sessions, branch sales meetings and management of various outbound calling campaigns. Help determine appropriate tactics/processes for team to execute resulting in achievement of goals. Assist manager in monitoring financial performance including understanding of balance sheet. Monitor overdrafts daily and communicate with customers in order to reduce risk of loss to the bank; control expenses; maintain pricing discipline relative to service charges, deposit and loan rates. Effectively communicate performance expectations; monitor and hold staff accountable for their performance and their actions. Proactively coach associates to leverage strengths and develop skills as needed to address identified gaps; conduct one-on-one meetings and provide timely feedback and appraisal of performance. Provide development opportunities for staff aligning with their career goals and develops ‘bench strength' for key positions Proactively recruit and maintain a pipeline of candidates who display requisite job skills and exhibit values consistent with Johnson Financial Group Create and sustain an environment which supports teamwork and mutual respect. Experience in management in a financial institution with knowledge in lending/credit. National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required (preferred upon employment).
