The Department of Pharmacology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty position. The academic appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the tenure track series.
The successful candidate will complement the diverse research portfolio of our newly merged department, which includes T cell biology and adoptive cellular therapy, neuroimmunology, autoimmunity, infectious disease, redox metabolism, glycoproteomics and multimodal spatial omics. Candidates conducting cutting-edge research in any aspect of cancer pharmacology or immunology are especially encouraged to apply, and current strengths in this area include T cell biology and metabolism, tumor microenvironment, target discovery, biomarkers, therapy, and the use of immune cells as a vehicle for therapy. Cancer focused faculty will be located in the Hollings Cancer Center, an NCI designated cancer center. Ideal applicants will be creative and collaborative scientists and will be expected to establish and maintain a rigorous extramurally funded research program, as well as to participate in our strong graduate training programs. The scientific environment within the College of Medicine and in the Department is highly interactive and productive, with strong ties on campus to other Basic Science and Clinical Departments, as well as Research Centers and Institutes. Position Summary
The instructor will be responsible for day-to-day activities for the Dental Assisting Program. Must assist the Program Director with development and responsibilities to maintain CODA accreditation compliance and documentation.
The instructor must be available or provide alternative responsibility arrangements when off campus. The instructor will work closely with faculty and students to ensure the program meets the needs of the students, college, and community. In addition, teach a minimum of 15 instructional units per semester of Dental Assisting courses, including on-line and in-class lectures, skills labs, and clinicals/practicums. Keep regular office hours, maintain licensure, certifications, and health documents. Participate in the development of curriculum, syllabi, and course materials; evaluate mastery of skills and competencies that are required by the learning department, school, and college-wide committees, and participate in meetings and activities. Other duties as assigned.
This position requires the ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and provide all vaccinations/titers as required by the Dental Assisting Program and/or healthcare facilities.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
* Must be a Certified Dental Assistant or Dentist licensed in the State of Nevada.
* Must have occupational experience with four-handed dentistry principles.
* Must have experience with CODA accreditation and documentation requirements.
* Must have instruction experience in educational theory and methodology, e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement, and evaluation.

Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree, the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.

Position Summary
The instructor will be responsible for day-to-day activities for the Dental Assisting Program. Must assist the Program Director with development and responsibilities to maintain CODA accreditation compliance and documentation.
The instructor must be available or provide alternative responsibility arrangements when off campus. The instructor will work closely with faculty and students to ensure the program meets the needs of the students, college, and community. In addition, teach a minimum of 15 instructional units per semester of Dental Assisting courses, including on-line and in-class lectures, skills labs, and clinicals/practicums. Keep regular office hours, maintain licensure, certifications, and health documents. Participate in the development of curriculum, syllabi, and course materials; evaluate mastery of skills and competencies that are required by the learning department, school, and college-wide committees, and participate in meetings and activities. Other duties as assigned.
This position requires the ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and provide all vaccinations/titers as required by the Dental Assisting Program and/or healthcare facilities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Must be a Certified Dental Assistant or Dentist licensed in the State of Nevada.
Must have occupational experience with four-handed dentistry principles.
Must have experience with CODA accreditation and documentation requirements.
Must have instruction experience in educational theory and methodology, e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement, and evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience in multiple Dental Assisting topics/subjects.
Experience working with diverse/multi-cultural student populations.
Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree, the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
*This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
The selected candidate may choose Tenure Track or Market Factor salary.
Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada Faculty Contract CSN-NFA Contract 2022-25.
