Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned individuals served in a 1:1, 1:2, or group-format.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials.
Participate in staff and treatment team meetings on a regular basis or as assigned
Conduct ongoing assessments of individuals served achievement through formal and informal testing at the directive of the clinical supervisor(s)
Manage the behavior of individuals served and administer appropriate interventions according to the individualized treatment plan
Document interactions and session summaries within electronic health record
Communicate effectively with parents and/or routine caregivers prior to and following sessions
Assist in maintaining an organized, clinical environment for individuals served and fellow team members
Responsible to track supervision hours to ensure maintenance of their RBT credential.

The Behavior Interventionist works with the students to help them to be productive and successful in the school community. The Behavior Interventionist is also a resource to the classroom teacher.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support:
* Serve all special education students that have a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). In addition, the BI may work with other special education students experiencing behavior difficulties.
* Serve at-risk students experiencing behavior problems as assigned by counselor and/or administrator.
* Provide teachers with insight regarding possible obstacles to student's progress.
* Regularly conduct social skills lessons for students.
* Maintain documentation about all assigned students' progress and the interventions provided.
Student Management:
* Monitor students' progress/behavior in the classroom and other campus settings.
* Provide feedback to teachers and administrators on student behavior.
* Develop motivational system for assigned students.
* Report behavior progress to teachers to report to parents as required by the BIP and as part of 3-week academic progress reports.
* Attend Assessment, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings for students with a BIP.
* Assist with functional Behavioral Assessments and the development of BIP's when requested by a Student Assistance Committee (SAC) or ARD committee.
* Serve DAEP or STARS students weekly as assigned by campus administrator.
* Provide behavior intervention in crisis situations. This may include restraining disruptive or dangerous student behavior as needed.
* Support the TBSI initiative.
Other:
* Attendance may be requested for parent/teacher conferences.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Be punctual in all areas.
* Maintain a positive attitude.
* Be a positive role model for all students.
* Complete reports as required by the Special Education office or for secondary PGPs.

How you'll contribute
A PHP Therapist who excels in this role will:
Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
Displays active involvement in treatment planning process
Displays active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment process
As therapeutically necessary, provides family session counseling to patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
Support with vital and UDS capture as needed
Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources, functioning within the scope of HIPAA and 42 CFT Part 2
Demonstrates proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment, documenting all correspondence held with patients and other stakeholders.
Ongoing and consistent collaboration with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members
Demonstrates active communication with team members
Effectively communicates to UR on treatment and LOS issues, supporting UR functions/authorizations/denials as needed and requested
Completes appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
Completes required assessment paperwork including patient assessment scales, Columbia, psychosocial/LOC assessments (not applicable at all facilities) psychosocial/LOC updates, and assigned assessment paperwork
Demonstrates appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Acts as a member of team when crisis occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety
Enacts the code system per company policy and training
Completes accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills. Assists care coordinate department as requested
