About the Role:
The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting the mental health and well-being of patients within the Warrior offsite PHP setting. This position involves direct patient care, assisting with clinical assessments, and implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed clinicians. The technician is responsible for monitoring patient behavior, managing crises effectively, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment. Accurate clinical documentation and maintaining up-to-date discharge plans are essential to facilitate continuity of care and support multidisciplinary team communication. Ultimately, this role contributes to improving patient outcomes by providing compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health support in a structured outpatient program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Experience working in a behavioral health or mental health care setting, preferably with children or adolescents.
Basic knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis management, and clinical documentation standards.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and clinical staff.
Preferred Qualifications:

: As a Therapist with our Children and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Team, you will work with First Responders in mental health and substance use crisis that involve our younger population by providing therapeutic care and resources for the client and their families while assessing situations in an often-emergent situation. The incumbent will work with the therapeutic teams and community resources to establish treatment plans and goals while communicating the needs of individuals involved and supporting their assigned Co Therapist. This is a part-time weekend positions working Saturdays and Sundays, either 7:00AM - 7:00PM or 7:00PM - 7:00AM.
What you'll be doing:
Conduct individual and/or family therapy with children and adolescent population ages three to eighteen.
Work with Program Manager and co-therapist to assist families as needed.
Provide Crisis Intervention for client and client's family when called.
Perform initial assessments, intakes and prepare documentation of such for client's Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Prepare with client a treatment plan to include goals.
Facilitate warm hand-off to Co Therapist and or Care Coordinator.
Conduct CANS Assessments.
Work closely with co-therapist, care coordinator & guardians regarding client's needs.
Participate in various meetings to include departmental, divisional, or other meetings as required.
Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain educational requirements regarding licensure Alabama Department of Mental Health standards.
Perform outreach in partnership with DHR.
Work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends twice a month.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
Masters degree in a Social Sciences field with a clinical practicum or internship
Minimum of one year working with seriously emotionally disturbed children (SED) preferred
1 year postmasters clinical experience preferred
Valid driver license with reliable transportation and acceptable MVR
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in the Mental Health field, experience with crisis preferred
Ability to work non-traditional hours
Ability to work as a member of a Team
CPR and SAMA certifications (or ability to obtain)
