GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) programming goals with children with Autism in a clinic-based environment or in-home environment, as assigned. The primary skill domains of clinical support for individuals served are functional communication training, socialization, and addressing challenging behaviors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Collaborate to develop target goals with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), parent/caregivers, and other members of the clinical team.
Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned individuals served in a 1:1, 1:2, or group-format.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials.
Participate in staff and treatment team meetings on a regular basis or as assigned
Conduct ongoing assessments of individuals served achievement through formal and informal testing at the directive of the clinical supervisor(s)
Manage the behavior of individuals served and administer appropriate interventions according to the individualized treatment plan
Document interactions and session summaries within electronic health record
Communicate effectively with parents and/or routine caregivers prior to and following sessions
Assist in maintaining an organized, clinical environment for individuals served and fellow team members
Responsible to track supervision hours to ensure maintenance of their RBT credential.
Deliver a minimum of 30 hours of direct intervention service per week

Position Overview
This position provides direct services to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Behavior Technician is responsible for collecting data, conducting assessments, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures, and documenting and reporting outcomes. This position is also responsible for assisting in the ongoing supervision of parttime Behavior Technicians and working with Senior Behavior Technicians and Behavior Analyst to provide training to new KFAC employees.
Minimum Qualifications

Primary Purpose:
Plan and provide students with research-based learning and experiences designed to address behavior, academic, and social challenges. Evaluate students and provide research-based interventions to eliminate or reduce behavior that interferes with student's ability to receive benefits from their educational program. Services may include crisis intervention, short-term counseling/behavior support, group counseling/social skills training, and other direct or indirect services to students and families.
Qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor's degree
* Master's degree in special education, psychology, behavior analysis, social work, or counseling, preferred

* Assist campus and district staff with the provision of appropriate instructional/behavioral programs for students with emotional/behavioral/social needs.
* Provide individual and group counseling/behavior support sessions including crisis intervention, short-term counseling/behavior support, group counseling/social skills training and other direct or indirect services to students in fulfillment of ARD-adopted decisions.
* Collaborate with staff on the development of behavior, crisis management and discipline intervention plans.
* Design and implement staff development addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
* Participate in staffing, ARD Committee meetings, case management meetings, and team problem-solving opportunities for students as needed.
* Demonstrate flexibility necessary to support on multiple campuses and grade levels to work directly with individual students and groups whose behavior is impacting the learning of self or others.
* Conduct counseling evaluation in accordance with regulations and district policy and practice as requested and within timelines specified.
* Complete Functional Behavior Assessments in accordance with regulations and district policy and practice as requested and within timelines specified.
* Maintain written documentation as required including service logs and monitor student progress and serve as liaison between student, parent, school, and agencies in order to coordinate services available to students and families.
* Attend staff development sessions to enhance professional growth.
* Assist with referrals for family services and outside agency participation when necessary.
