DOE POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for ensuring safe and timely transportation for company personnel between designated locations. With a strong emphasis on passenger comfort and security, this person must be committed to upholding all traffic regulations and daily inspection of the vehicles. By cultivating a friendly and professional demeanor, employee shuttle drivers strive to provide a positive experience for all passengers, contributing to a seamless and efficient commuting process within the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Perform a daily pre/post trip inspection on the vehicle assigned to you. Must be able to complete level 1 maintenance on the vehicle such as, replenishing oil, windshield wiper fluid, and fuel when needed. Obey the posted speed limits Arrive at each shuttle collection point prior to a scheduled departure time. Have strong abilities to manage passenger behavior for the safety of others and Crystal Mountain property while in transport. As a bus driver, you become an important and steady person in these young children's lives. Each day gives you the opportunity to get a child's day started off right and remind them that they are special and important. Having the ability to make the students feel comfortable is just as important as knowing how to drive the bus. This position safely operates school buses under all types of weather conditions, including, but not limited to fog, rain, sleet, snow, and ice. Responsibilities include transporting students and other authorized persons over regular "to and from school" routes, and on-field, co-curricular, and special or extra activity trips as authorized by District officials. A typical bus driver usually works early in the morning then late in the afternoon with a long break in-between. There is also the option of driving to and from field trips or other school activities to gain additional work hours. As a public entity, Peninsula School District offers competitive retirement, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits to employees in eligible positions (630+ hours per year).
