Job Description
We are seeking an experienced speech or debate coach to guide a rookie team at
Rochester Prep High School. On our students' paths to and through college, nationally
recognized competitive programs provide an edge for college admissions, but also for
college persistence. The coach will be responsible for all aspects of competition,
including identifying tournaments, registration, securing judges, tryouts, motivating and
preparing students, and keeping school leaders informed of progress. The coaching role
is part-time and will report to the Enrichment Program Manager.
Qualifications
Preparation & Practice Time: Up to 6 hours a week
● Up to 2 hours per week preparing for Projects, competitions, and after school practices.
● Long-term coaching during “Projects”: Meet with students Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1
hour each day, from August to June.
● On average at least 6 hours of practice outside of school hours weekly, working directly
with students to prepare for competition
● Internal employees who also serve as coaches are responsible for the preparation and
communication about any absences caused by team tournaments during their standard
work hours
Competitions: at least 6 weekend tournaments over a 6-month period
● Research and identify appropriate competitions and tournaments.
● Sign up for competitions, in partnership with the school-based Enrichment Program
Manager.
● Coach and travel with students to at least all competitions
● At least one competition should be nationally recognized (for example, National Speech
& Debate Association). These competitions should have regional/district qualifiers that
can lead to competing on the national scale.
● Chaperone students to at least 2 regional/local competitions that take place ahead of the
national competition and can serve as preparation
Family Communication
● Because of the significant time required for after-school practices, school-based
Enrichment Program Managers and coaches identify team members and confirm
commitment via signed parent permission form indicating after-school commitment
● In partnership with the school-based Enrichment Program Manager, establish a family
communication protocol using the Remind app to update families about competition,
after school practices, and any other time outside of school that students will be doing
club-related activities.
Additional Information
Coaches will receive an annual stipend of $3,500-$4,000 based on experience and contracted hours per week, paid semi-monthly.
If at any point during the year, you stop performing these responsibilities before they are fully completed, for any reason, your stipend will be adjusted in accordance.

Position Summary: The RCA nurtures & supports the Hawthorne Residents by providing excellent care in a family environment. The RCA recognizes & responds to Residents needs appropriately. Support emotional, physical and social well-being of elders.
Encourage independence of elders with decision making.

Assist in maintaining clean common spaces and laundry rooms.
Attend monthly staff meetings as well as quarterly organization wide meetings. Assist with program selected routine procedures such as personal care, dressing, grooming, transfer, assist with ambulation, toileting to assist elder to maintain good personal hygiene in accordance with the Individual Service Plans (ISP's).
As necessary, assist elders with positioning and transporting in and out of chairs, beds, bathtubs, cars, buses, etc…. Will also include transporting to other areas of the community.
Report any physical or mental status changes or concerns to LPN, RN/Case Manager or Program Coordinator.
Communicate with co-workers at all levels to meet the needs of the elders.
Maintain a safe, hazard free environment by observing and monitoring the community and reporting unsafe conditions to the RN/Case Manager or Program Coordinator.
Follows procedures for documentation.
Ability to work with individual residents or groups in special activity programs.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from residents, resident's families, regulatory agencies, and the public.
Must be able to provide redirection to confused or distressed residents.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with staff and peers.
Ability to remain calm, reassuring and effective in an atmosphere that often times is chaotic.
Follow established protocol for accidents and incidents.
Attend and participate in 12 hours annually of training programs and other educational classes.
Complete additional tasks as requested by Program Coordinator, RN/Case Manager or LPN.
Responsible for reporting to RN/Case Manager any observations or changes in residents' behavior, activity or physical appearance.
Responsible for following infection control guidelines.
Attend and participate in disaster preparedness training and drills.
Assist residents during meals with direction, cueing and assistive devices.
Monitor elders during meals.
Provide assistance to elders with medical equipment.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as a NYS Home Health Aide (HHA) required.
Medication assistance training desirable.
Med Tech experience desirable.
Willingness to complete onsite RCA training.
Minimum of 2 years of past experience providing direct resident care required in home health or long-term care.
Proficient in writing and reading English.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting and the ability to assist elders with transferring and all ADL's.

Title: Livingston County Senior Companion Program Specialist Classification: Part-Time; 20 hours/week (M-F 10a-2p); benefits-eligible Pay Rate: $18.00/hr Summary Under the direct supervision of the Director of Aging Services, the Senior Companion Program Specialist is responsible for recruiting and managing low-income senior volunteers in Livingston County.
This position is located in Livingston County with travel, as required, to Rochester, New York.
Job Duties
Programmatic/Clerical
Recruit low-income senior volunteers in Livingston County.
Assist the Director in team review of referrals and interview new volunteers.
Complete background checks for new volunteers.
Assist with Senior Companion volunteer site placements.
Complete payroll for all volunteers.
Perform site visits and prepare site visit notes.
Assist in resolving problems concerning volunteers/sites/clients.
Coordinate transportation for Senior Companion Program (SCP) volunteers, as needed.
Maintain volunteer database.
Training and Presentations
Conduct in-service training sessions and events for Senior Companions.
Other
Adhere to policies and procedures for staff consistent with those of the sponsor.
Maintain and develop cooperative working relationships with a variety of community members and organizations.
Attend conferences, meetings, and trainings related to the position.
Assist with special events.
Perform related work as required.

Qualifications
Required:

This is a custodial position responsible for assisting a Custodian Engineer with general housekeeping, maintenance tasks, semi-skilled repair work, steam boiler maintenance, recordkeeping, and the general physical condition of an assigned building or school in the Rochester City School District. The Assistant Custodian Engineer differs from Custodian Engineer by the absence of supervisory responsibilities and more hands on work. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Custodian Engineer or other higher level staff member. General supervision may be exercised over Custodial Assistants or Cleaners. The Assistant Custodian Engineer may assume the Custodian Engineers responsibilities in his/her absence. Does related work as required.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, PLUS either: (A) One (1) year of paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in building housekeeping, operation and maintenance work involving the operation of a stationary steam plant; OR, (B) Possession of a Chief, First, Second or Third Class Stationary Engineers License issued by a Board of Stationary Engineers in the State of New York. NOTE: Additional experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a Third Class Stationary Engineers license issued by a Board of Stationary Engineers in the State of New York at the time of appointment. (All need not be performed in a given position. Other related activities may be performed although not listed.) Performs maintenance activities including building service, housekeeping, general maintenance, mechanical and electrical maintenance, steam boiler maintenance, plumbing and minor carpentry work including rebuilding fixtures and replacing non working parts; Fires and maintains steam boilers and related equipment; Reads meters and gauges to determine operating condition of equipment and tests the chemical composition of the water in the boilers; Disassembles boilers to clean and repair internal parts; Operates air conditioning units and related equipment and performs minor repairs; Cleans and lubricates pumps, fans, air compressors and other equipment; Maintains floors and carpets in halls, stairways, classrooms, locker rooms, offices, and rest rooms; Assists in keeping records of boiler checks, purchase orders, requisitions and payroll information; Collects and disposes of refuse; Washes, paints and varnishes furniture and equipment; Performs basic grounds and maintenance tasks with hand or power equipment; Closes and locks all windows and secures buildings; Monitors the operation of swimming pool pumps and filters and treats the water with chemicals.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of building housekeeping and maintenance methods, materials and equipment; good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of steam boilers and related equipment; ability to assist with maintenance of records of department activities and expenditures; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to operate electrical and manual cleaning equipment; ability to perform semi skilled repair work on complex operating systems; ability to make minor maintenance repairs; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to work well with others, specifically students and teaching staff; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
