Job Posting A Brief Overview The CDL Driver II is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This role requires maintaining a Class A or B Driver's license, inspecting and maintaining trucks, reporting shortages and claims to supervisors, and assisting in loading and storing of materials. Drivers must perform pre- and post-trip inspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements. The CDL Driver II is typically a more experienced driver who may train new associates. What you will do Operates Class A commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. Responsible for deliveries to both active construction sites and completed build locations; city-based deliveries and inter-state travel may be required. Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with federal regulations. Provides exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor, addressing client needs, representing the company positively during all interactions, and relaying messages received from customers while on job sites. Organizes and secures loads to ensure safe transport and verifies orders for accuracy before departure and upon delivery. Adheres to all regulations and safety guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and complies with all regulations and conditions outlined in applicable permits. Prepares and maintains accurate DOT-compliant logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods in accordance with federal regulations. Delivers and unloads materials accurately and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction at the point of delivery. Records all merchandise returned by truck and assists in unloading materials returned for credit, ensuring proper documentation and handling. Safely and efficiently operates a truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and transport materials at job sites. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the truck, ensuring it is well-kept and ready for operation. Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in the warehouse and production areas. Trains and mentors incoming drivers on company policies, safety procedures, and operational best practices. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. CDL Drivers may also be required to perform driving and non-driving duties like responding to environmental spills, manual labor, site cleanup, and hazardous waste transportation. Additional responsibilities can involve loading and unloading equipment, assisting hazmat technicians with pressure washers, confined space entry, shoveling/digging, and vacuuming material. Job Responsibilities: Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects electronically through Geotab TM & Whip Around TM, as well as communicate issues with Dispatch & Supervisor Following all laws regarding traffic rules, speed limits, and safe driving practices when transporting hazardous materials/waste Regularly participate in communication meetings with the team to help drive growth and create a collaborative culture Performing DOT pre- and post - trip vehicle inspection reports Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements Follow applicable safety rules regulations, guidelines, policies and site-specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear Assist in the setup, tear down, & decontaminating equipment Maintain supplies & equipment by properly stocking & restocking in a neat & orderly fashion Responsible for loading and unloading Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supplies, vacuum hoses, camlock fittings, box liners, drums, totes, etc. as instructed in JRS or work order Complete required daily timesheet, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's), labels, manifests, & land disposal restrictions as required Perform daily maintenance of vehicles (refueling, cleaning, etc.) Use small hand tools squeegees shovels and brooms as well as wipes absorbent boom and pads to contain and remediate impacted soils and waters Loading and unloading box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks Interacting with customers in a professional manner Safely handle, package, & transport hazardous materials/waste. This includes loading, unloading, & ensuring all piece/drum counts match all associated shipping documents Must be prepared to work flexible or extended hours in inclement weather conditions including heat, cold, & humidity Ability to work a rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. May require out-of-town travel. Length of travel will be dependent on service center and on-going projects Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat & cold) Accountability and punctuality Physically able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary and lift > 50lbs routinely Preform other, related duties as assigned by Leadership Working Conditions: Outdoor work in potentially adverse conditions, i.e. rain and mud, rocky soils, snow and ice, extreme temperatures Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions Occasional off pavement driving especially with tankers and roll off trucks. Apply triple and single rail tire chains when necessary Hook/unhook hoses, open and close valves. Run and inspect wench systems.
