Some key tasks include: Learning how complex manufacturing processes are designed and maintained within a modern food processing facility Learning how plant processes are monitored and controlled Observing/understanding how safety is incorporated into various production systems and areas Observing/supporting the design and implementation of new systems or equipment Working with plant personnel to ensure proper methods and procedures are followed for system and equipment operations Participating in the execution and oversight of preventative maintenance and repair tasks Collaborating with the Engineering Department and engaging in networking opportunities with senior leadership Preparing detailed reports for the senior management team and key department heads, summarizing key insights and experiences during the internship Other duties as assigned This is a safety sensitive position. Qualifications Qualified Candidates for the Engineering Summer Internship position should possess the following: Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing on Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field Minimum GPA of 3.0 in core curriculum classes Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products Availability to work 40+ hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internship Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
