The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients. The Company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S. Role: The Laboratory Technologist - Imaging and Molecular Biology collaborates with the Laboratory and Medical Directors to perform high-quality, compliant laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and CAP/COLA/CLIA standards. This role is responsible for accurate fluorescence imaging analysis, tumor cell enumeration, and documentation supporting clinical diagnostic reporting. The position works closely with laboratory operations and scientific teams to support testing throughput, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement of imaging workflows in a regulated, high-complexity laboratory environment.     Clinical Laboratory Technologist (2 openings) Reports to: Sr. Director, Lab Operations and Systems Implementation Company Background: CNSide Diagnostics, LLC, a subsidiary of Plus Therapeutics, Inc., develops and commercializes proprietary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests, such as CNSide, designed to identify tumor cells that have metastasized to the central nervous system in patients with carcinomas and melanomas. The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients. The Company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S. Role: We are seeking multiple CLIA Clinical Lab Technologists based at our Houston, TX, facility. They will be responsible for performing technical and scientific processes and procedures in a high-complexity testing CLIA-certified laboratory. This position will require the technologist to master multiple systems, instruments, and methodologies. Responsibilities: Responsible for performing molecular-based technical and scientific processes and procedures in a high complexity testing CLIA-certified laboratory. Perform molecular and immunocytochemistry assays, including tumor cell enumeration (TCE), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), for clinical, research, and diagnostic applications. Accurately document all testing activities in accordance with laboratory policies and accreditation requirements. Prepare for and participate in inspections by accrediting bodies. Analyze and evaluate test results in conjunction with quality control data under supervision. Review and release patient results with appropriate oversight. Assist colleagues with complex procedures or result interpretation as needed. Train and orient new laboratory personnel on procedures, instrumentation, and workflows Participate in quality assurance activities, including performing and documenting quality control, identifying variances, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives according to established protocols. Perform scheduled quality control reviews, recognize deviations from QC criteria, and investigate, resolve, and document proficiency testing exceptions. Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of laboratory instruments. Perform specimen collection when required and process specimens for accessioning, tracking, and transport. Follow laboratory safety policies, use personal protective equipment appropriately, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Support cost-effective laboratory operations by assisting with inventory management and appropriate resource utilization. Use laboratory information systems and other computer systems in accordance with departmental procedures. Demonstrate strong customer service skills through professional interactions and effective issue resolution. Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, biology, chemistry, or a related life science field required. Master's degree or doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline preferred but not required. Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in a high complexity clinical or molecular laboratory preferred. Experience with molecular, cellular, or immunocytochemistry-based assays in a regulated laboratory environment preferred. Completion of appropriate laboratory training and demonstrated competency for assigned testing areas, as required under CLIA. Ability to meet ongoing continuing education and competency assessment requirements in accordance with laboratory and regulatory standards. Requirements: Strong knowledge of molecular and cellular biology in a high complexity CLIA laboratory setting. Demonstrated experience performing complex molecular and cellular assays, including quantitative techniques such as PCR and real-time PCR. Experience with immunocytochemistry, fluorescence in situ hybridization, cell-based assays, or next-generation sequencing is preferred. Ability to follow validated procedures, interpret quality control data, and troubleshoot assay issues in a regulated environment. Familiarity with assay validation, verification, and stability studies is a plus. Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work effectively in a clinical laboratory team.
