This is a full-time position within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The purpose of simulated clinical experiences and learning lab experiences is to prepare nurses to respond to the increasingly complex health care needs of individuals, families and communities. Innovative simulation and skill-based learning experiences are needed to enhance safe, effective, evidence-based practice for nursing students. In collaboration with faculty, the learning lab coordinator will be responsible for the establishment of centralized processes and procedures related to the nursing simulation/learning lab.
Responsibilities:
* Support student skill development and create opportunities that enhance current use of simulation to support continuous improvement and growth of skills and student critical thinking.
* Create and develop opportunities to provide individual student remediation as requested by faculty.
* Assist in lab stations or simulations as requested by faculty.
* Assist in proctoring students as requested by faculty.
* Provide coaching and feedback to students during scheduled lab time as requested by faculty and during open lab time.
* Participate in simulation planning.
* Develop and implement processes for purchase, scheduling use of and maintenance of equipment and space in the simulation/learning laboratory.
* Develop and maintain a process for inventory of equipment and supplies.
* Participate in the hiring, coordination, supervision, and training of graduate assistants and/or student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program (CCNE, NLN, ACEN)

* Three years of experience working in an acute care nursing setting
* Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Requires occasionally moving up to 50-pound articles and frequently moving objects such as heavy tools, mannequins, equipment or file boxes. This position may require movement to a significant degree on level or rough terrain and prolonged standing.

The MDL is a local leader in pioneering genomic technologies for the diagnosis and management of both inherited disease and cancer. This is a full-time day position, Sunday-Thursday (8:00am-5:00pm), with possible Weekend and rotating Holidays. Schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the department.
The MDL serves a unique and diverse patient population with our hospital recognized as a national leader in areas like bone marrow transplantation. In addition, our hospital has also recently been established as a rare disease center of excellence. Our team of over 19 staff members perform highly specialized testing for inherited genetic disease, bone marrow engraftment, infectious disease, and malignant disease. Through our partnerships with clinical genetic counselors, molecular genetic pathologists, and bio informaticists at University of Minnesota Health, we have developed and validated testing including comprehensive genomic tumor profiling and whole genome sequencing for patients with hereditary genetic diagnoses.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) functions independently in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. The MLS performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and acts as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. The MLS correlates data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. The MLS collaborates with the customers of the laboratory to promote customer satisfaction. The MLS participates in laboratory performance improvement activities.

About this position

Primary Responsibility:
Perform Instrument maintenance on AU480, Shimadzu LCMS and
temperature/humidity monitoring.
Process samples through toxicology and molecular workflow including loading,
technical review, and queueing of analytical instrumentation.
General Duties as needed:
Perform qualitative and quantitative LCMS data analysis.
Prepare Standards, Quality Controls, Internal standards and other reagents required
for optimal functioning of analytical testing.
Process patient results through (LIS) with high attention to detail.
Perform and maintain toxicology extraction panel standards, quality controls, and
internal standards for all LC/MS/MS and perform necessary reagent qualification
prior to release for production use.
Document corrective and preventative action in all testing procedures.
