**Job Description:**
+ Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
+ Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs. Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
+ Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
+ Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors. Demonstrate proficiency with EHRs, pharmacy informatics systems, and medication automation to optimize clinical decision support and documentation.

Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications

Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The staff pharmacist works according to legal and ethical guidelines to ensure the correct and safe supply of medical products to Axium Healthcare Pharmacy patients. They are also involved in maintaining and improving patient health by providing pharmaceutical care services including, but not limited to: oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy as well as providing drug information, patient information and oversight of information and dispensing systems. The pharmacist also ensures compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations as well as proper medication storage and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare, label and dispense medications for patients in accordance with
physicians' prescriptions; ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws
and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and the
maintenance or required records.
* Maintain appropriate records of dispensing and oversee and maintain the systems
that charge or credit for medications and medication treatments.
* Provide drug information and educate caregivers, patients and students
regarding medications and their proper use and monitoring.
* Oversee and monitor all aspects of the medication process; collect data and
present reports and recommendations regarding issues with the medication
systems.
* Ensure proper documentation and record keeping is done for all medications with
particular attention to controlled substances.
*Oversee all equipment and systems used in preparation, oversight and dispensing
of medications.
* Ensure that appropriate medications are available for patients and properly procured,
prepared, stored and maintained.
* Supervise the process and technical personnel who assist in preparation,

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, PharmD degree preferred. 3 - 5 years experience at a staff pharmacist level is preferred or equivalent experience. Current Florida Licensure in good standing. Additional state licensure is a plus.

Quality Assurance: The Pharmacy Specialist assists in assuring that study drug product prepared and/or checked by pharmacy technical staff is of the highest quality standards to ensure the safety of the study participants and integrity of the study. This includes assisting with the completion of all required in-house sterile technique skills tests for all staff.
Training & Development: The Pharmacy Specialist assists in the continued evaluation of a training program for Clinic staff that interacts with the pharmacy, to assure compliance with pharmacy procedures.
Sponsor Relations & Study Close-Out: The Pharmacy Specialist interacts with sponsors and clients in regard to potential and on-going studies, explaining K2 Med procedures and responding to sponsor/client requests regarding handling of drug, close-out issues, and other operational matters. This role assures close-out of studies are handled properly, including ensuring drug is returned to sponsor, stored correctly, or otherwise managed depending on protocol and sponsor requirements.
Additional Duties: The Pharmacy Specialist performs other duties as assigned to support the expanding needs of both Phase 1 and outpatient pharmacy operations.
