Under coordination of the Recreation Coordinator the position is to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Youth Sports Referee to the best of their ability and as a reasonable and prudent individual. This is a part-time, seasonal position. Works evenings, weekends and holidays; hours and schedule may vary. Job Description We are looking for some enthusiastic, self-motivated, sports-loving REFEREES and UMPIRES to join our team at Arizona Youth Sports. You'll work games in the East Valley, ensuring fair play and sportsmanship. You'll enforce the rules and maintain game flow. Effective communication with players and coaches is key. Don't have much officiating experience? Don't worry, we'll train you! What kind of hours will you work? Our league only plays on Saturdays, so we're looking for team members that can consistently commit to that schedule. (We also understand that life gets busy and are open to providing some flexibility, if needed) General GameDay hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm, depending on location. The Soccer Referee is responsible for enforcing the rules of the game during matches in a fair, consistent, and professional manner. This role is located at our Big League Dreams Manteca location and requires a strong knowledge of the Laws of the Game, quick decision-making, excellent communication, and the ability to manage players, coaches, and game flow effectively. The VU REC Intramural Referee Coordinator Support is to assist with the Coordinator of Athletic Recreation Engagement with the development and implementation of campus intramural programs for undergraduate students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual plan for extra-curricular recreational programs, activities, and services (e.g., intramural leagues/tournaments, recreational opportunities, fitness and wellness activities and services, and other student activities) Lead Referee Trainings Assist with hiring student referees and scheduling Referees for Intramurals. The Intramural Referee is responsible for officiating and supervising intramural sports contests on campus. This student worker role ensures games are conducted safely, fairly, and according to established rules. Duties include enforcing game regulations, managing player conduct, maintaining a positive and inclusive environment, setting up and taking down equipment, and assisting with scorekeeping or administrative tasks as needed. Referees serve as representatives of campus recreation, promoting sportsmanship and enhancing the intramural experience for all participants. Referees are seasonal and assigned to sports for which they are trained. This may include, but is not limited to, fall/spring intramurals.
