What You Will Be Doing:
The CMM Programmer ensures the quality and conformity of internally manufactured parts from the Helion Machine Shop. Their primary responsibility will be to inspect, evaluate, and document conditions of internally manufactured parts and grow and lead a team of inspectors doing the same. They will work closely with Machinists, Engineering, and Supply Chain to uphold quality standards to ensure efficient operations and reliable fusion generators This is an onsite role that reports directly to Machine Shop Manager at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
Perform detailed inspections on milled, turned, laser cut, and punched parts
Use various manual and automated inspection tools - such as dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, gauges, fixed and portable CMMs, optical systems, light-based systems, and vision-based systems
Develop and maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, documenting and reporting deviations found during the inspection process to appropriate team members
Collaborate with Machinists, Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to address quality concerns and provide feedback on non-conformances promptly
Improve inspection processes to enhance overall hardware quality
Stay informed about industry-leading practices and latest trends in quality control
Purchase equipment and tools to support inspection operations
Required Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years' experience in quality or inspection roles in production environment
3+ years' experience operating CMMs, light-based systems, and vision-based systems
3+ years' experience in CMM programming - preferably PC-DMIS and Spatial Analyzer
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications for mechanical and electromechanical parts
Excellent understanding and application of GD&T
Experience with industry quality standards, regulations, and inspection techniques
Good eyesight and color vision for accurate assessment of product attributes

About the Role
As a Distinguished Engineer / Technical Fellow, you will be the primary architect of Armada's long-term technical vision. Next Horizon Projects: Drive the architectural roadmap for visionary initiatives, including Data Centers in Space. This involves adapting the Armada stack for orbital compute modules and solving for the unique challenges of Low Earth Orbit (LEO)-including radiation-tolerant software, thermal management, and power-constrained AI processing.
Strategic Partner Engineering: Work directly with elite industry partners to co-design solutions that integrate Armada's technology deeper into their global ecosystems. You will ensure our platform becomes the standard infrastructure for compute, whether terrestrial or orbital.
Technical Strategy: Partner with Company Leadership to define the 3-5 year technical roadmap, identifying emerging technologies in high-density GPU orchestration and orbital data processing that align with our long-term business goals.
Hard-Problem Solver: Act as the final point of escalation for complex architectural challenges involving real-time data streaming, computer vision, and network-aware workload distribution.

Required Qualifications:

Systems Programming: Mastery of Go, C++, or Rust, with a deep understanding of how software interacts with physical compute hardware and non-terrestrial networking layers.

Technicians in the level 2 role will perform more advanced responsibilities including:
Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs, including replacing worn components and verifying robot operation after service. Collect data and take measurements as support for reliability testing.
Diagnose and resolve common mechanical/electrical issues (faulty sensors, wiring problems, misalignment, minor mechanical failures).
Adjust and jog positions on robot axis, perform I/O checks to support production or R&D tests.Verify configurations against known values and report discrepancies.
