The Plant Services team is looking for a positive professional who can work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting.The Industrial Controls Technician II position will be responsible to perform repair and general preventative maintenance on all production and facility equipment for all divisions within the Appleton, WI area.The individual will assist with equipment moves, new equipment install and safety related projects.The equipment worked on will include but not be limited to CNC lathes, sheet metal equipment, electronic component insertion machinery, wire cutting and terminating equipment, conveyors, hoists, coil winders, electronic gates, overhead doors, and sump pumps.The individual requires a strong troubleshooting background and PLC programming knowledge.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Understand the basic principles of troubleshooting and be proficient at reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams used for troubleshooting as related to manufacturing production equipment
+ PLC programming experience
+ PLC's (Allen Bradley RSLogix 500, RS Logix5000, Factory Talk View), Functional knowledge with Servo drives, feedback systems, encoders, relay logic control systems
+ Experience with equipment operating at 5VDC through 575VAC Three Phase systems
+ Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of production and facility equipment
+ Repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notify appropriate personnel
+ Using multi-meters, amp meters and ohmmeters, troubleshoot AC/DC/VFD/servo motors, motor controllers, PLC's and rewire/ identify/replace failed components to include: motors, drives, drive boards, I/O boards, switches, transformers, contractors, relays and fuses
+ Programs PLC's and VFD motors as required
+ Able to read and interpret work orders and owner's manuals
+ Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems as related to troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing production equipment
+ Knowledge of how to use hand tools and power tools safely
+ Repair or replace defective parts while maintaining MRO inventory as required
+ Able to communicate effectively, in a professional manner with customers and vendors
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Independent and organized work style to effectively manage time and prioritize workload, adapt to change and consistently meet deadlines
+ Possess solid analytical/numerical abilities with attention to accuracy/detail
+ Understand applicable safety standards and codes
+ Ability to navigate CMMS software and other computer software packages

Expectations

Ability to read blueprints, understand various PLC platforms, drives, and HMI's. perform diagnostic assessments and use variety of tools and techniques to ensure that the equipment that they're working on is functioning optimally.

Key Qualifications:

The Role Control Technician

This position will be located in Appleton, WI with requirements to travel up to 50% of the time.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide remote support to operations to analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and automation issues
Act as the initial point of contact for engineering support requests from our owned and operated sites
Proficient PLC programming knowledge in order to troubleshoot issues in the field, and make programming changes as requested by Engineering/Operations
Provide on-site support to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation issues, as needed
Maintain documentation and hours logs for each support request
Maintain PLC IO list documentation and change logs, along with an organized equipment manual library
Be available as a 24/7 on-call resource for emergency technical assistance
Ability to read P&IDs, and electrical drawings such as one-line diagrams, panel wiring schematics, and instrument wiring diagrams

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of an associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or related field is required for this position

Repair or replace defective parts while maintaining MRO inventory as required
Able to communicate effectively, in a professional manner with customers and vendors
Strong verbal and written communication skills

The Role - Control Technician

What You'll Do
