Up-to-date immunization records per hospital guidelines Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency (1) Year of food service experience (within the last two years) Work requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, carrying, reaching about, lifting, and lowering up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and/or elbows. Must read, write, and speak English fluently and have basic computer knowledge. Must possess basic knowledge of food safety, customer service etiquette, and food service in a healthcare environment. Must be able to communicate with civilian and military personnel at all levels effectively and respectfully. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Possess knowledge of military protocol when addressing Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Government personnel (preferred but not required). Experience in the use of standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and telephone systems. Job Duties Include but are not limited to: Providing meals to all patients admitted to the facility, family members, staff, and visitors in the facility, as well as nourishment to outpatient clinics. Transport of patient meals and/or nourishments requires pushing a heavy, covered, wheeled cart from the main kitchen area to all in-patient wards/unit general delivery areas, and dining/cafeteria areas in the facility. (Does not include specific delivery or communication with/to patients or patient rooms). Preparing hot & cold drinks, fruits, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and other food/drink items for service, including making beverages, cutting edibles, opening cans, portioning out, and/or packing lunches Cleaning/sanitizing food service establishments and equipment, serving foods/beverages, unloading and stocking supplies Hospital Requirements: Workers will be subject to the following security processes for security background investigation: background investigation and fingerprinting. Must pass a physical examination to confirm capability to stand for long periods of time, walking, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, carrying, reaching above and below, repetitive hand, wrist, and/or elbow motions, and lifting and lowering up to 50 pounds. The physical examination is a condition of employment and must be passed/cleared by a medical physician prior to the start of services. All employees shall comply with the following health & immunization requirements. This list is not all-inclusive and additional immunizations/vaccines may be required by the hospital as designated necessary: Tdap vaccine within last 10 year MMR vaccine - 2 doses or Rubella, Rubeola, and Mumps igG titers showing positive results PPD (TB skin test) - 2 tests within the past 12 months or a QFT Gold showing negative results within the past 12 months. A copy of a chest x-ray if you have a history of a positive TB test Varivax vaccine (chickenpox) - 2 doses or Varicella igG titer showing positive results 2022 season Influenza vaccine (flu shot) The work environment may include delivery to and/or access to patient care wards and/or clinics (in-patient wards and/or outpatient clinics) which may result in exposure to infectious or contagious diseases, odors, or other risks that may occasionally require special health and safety precautions. However, services under any circumstances will not involve entering patient rooms, will not directly provide trays to patients/patient rooms, or will not pick up trays from patients/patient rooms.
