Components
A. B. Individual supportive counseling, solution focused intervention, emotional and behavioral management, and problem behavior analysis with the client, with the goal of assisting the client with developing and implementing social, interpersonal, self care, daily living and independent living skills to restore stability, to support functional gains, and to adapt to community living.
C. Participation in and utilization of strengths based planning and treatments which include assisting the client and family members or other collaterals with identifying strengths and needs, resources, natural supports and developing goals and objectives to utilize personal strengths, resources, and natural supports to address functional deficits associated with their mental illness.
D. Assist the client with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that would risk their remaining in a natural community location, including assisting the client and family members or other collaterals with identifying a potential psychiatric or personal crisis, developing a crisis management plan and/or as appropriate, seeking other supports to restore stability and functioning.
Targeted Case Management (TCM) Definition: Targeted Case Management is designed to provide medically necessary services, under a treatment plan approved by the psychiatrist or physician skilled in the treatment of mental disorders and to assist Medicaid beneficiaries in resolving or minimizing the effects of the mental and emotional impairment for which clinical and/or hospital services have previously been provided. The goal is to enhance independent functioning through which the consumer is integrated into and/or maintained within the community, so that institutionalization is not as likely or frequent. This goal-directed medically necessary service is for adults with severe and persistent mental illness or children with severe emotional disturbance through which the individual is assisted in obtaining access to needed medical, social, educational and other services. Child Protection Specialist is responsible for the investigation of abuse/neglect allegations. They must work in conjunction with schools, courts, law enforcement and other community partners to aid children and families. They are responsible for determining safety of children, assessing the needs of a family and making referrals for the appropriate services be that foster care, family preservation, mental health or other services within the community. They must be able to communicate in both verbal and written form. Joplin Schools is looking for someone to assist in a special education classroom for Communication, Behavior, Social Skills (CBSS). This position includes working with students with significant behaviors or autism. Extensive training will be provided by the district. Applicant may be working 1-1 with a student or assisting with small group lessons and collecting data on all programs. The applicant will be working closely with the classroom teacher, a behavior consultant as well as a behavior technician, collaborating on student's goals, behavior intervention plans and the implementation of daily schedules. Applicant must be able to work within a team, have great communication skills, take care of personal needs of students, work with nonverbal students, and be willing to learn ABA applied behavior analysis techniques. Strong consideration will be given to candidates that have experience with students with Autism and positive behavioral support.

Essential Functions:
Curriculum support for students
Behavior modification techniques
Creating individualized learning materials
Supporting student through assigned tasks
Reading aloud to individual or small groups of students
Assist with lifting or transferring students
Assist with personal hygiene, including diapering and toilet training
Documentation and record keeping
Maintain logs and journals
Assist students with motor or mobility limitations
Maintain structure of the classroom
Follow classroom activities and lessons as set by the teacher
Snack preparation and clean-up
Follow other directions in implementing student plans as directed by the teacher
Carry out all other duties as assigned
