Attend seminars, workshops, conferences, and so forth, as required. 10. Maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification; perform CPR in emergencies. 11. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. 12. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Answers 24-hour hotline, assesses caller's needs, and determines eligibility for Shelter admission or makes appropriate referrals. Provides “Resident Orientation” orally and in writing within 16 hours, for clients entering the Shelter. Ensures documentation of resident orientation. Provides crisis intervention, safety planning, information/referral, and follow-up for shelter and outreach clients. Provides or arranges transportation allowing families to safely arrive at the Shelter and allowing families to access needed community services during their stay at the Shelter. Completes intake process for each client and arranges for the immediate needs of each family member in residence. Manages Shelter operations to ensure enforcement of Shelter rules, policies, and procedures; ensures a calm, supportive atmosphere; maintains the security of the Shelter; distributes of incoming client mail; supports client participation in group meetings. Providing transformational change to the child welfare system in Region 5. *Services provided in the following counties - Jasper, Tyler, Newton, San Augustine, and Sabine* Case Managers are responsible for a child's welfare whenever they are removed from their home. They work closely with parents, extended family, and legal parties to help children find a permanent, safe place to live. Case Managers also provide leadership in partnering with families and appropriate others in the community to assure that the therapeutic needs of a designated caseload of children are adequately addressed. The Case Manager will assure the services delivered both to the child/adolescent and to the family are individualized, appropriate to need, child centered, family focused, culturally competent, strengths based, and goal driven. The Case Manager will ensure all work is geared toward positive permanency for the child/youth/family. Provide, at least monthly, updates to the attorney representing DFPS, attorneys for parents, Attorney Ad Litem, Guardian Ad Litem and/or CASA. Case Manager will keep them informed about developments in the case, return phone calls, and ensure the family is aware of how they can assess assistance outside of normal business hours. They work closely with parents, extended family, and legal parties to help children find a permanent, safe place to live. P #1315 Schedule: Hours and days vary based on program needs Compensation: $13.80 per hour Burke is seeking a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Residential Assistant to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. Residential Assistants help create a safe, home-like environment, support daily living activities, provide active treatment, and collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality care. The RA also helps maintain the home according to Life Safety and Health standards and completes required documentation related to daily activities, progress notes, medication inventories, and other tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities * Provide guidance, supervision, and support to residents in day-to-day living * Assist with active treatment plans alongside the Day Programmer * Promote a positive, respectful, and home-like environment * Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and compliant with Life Safety and Health standards * Complete daily documentation, including activity notes, progress reports, and medication inventory * Work collaboratively with program staff and other professionals * Maintain reliable transportation for required duties Qualifications Education * Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience * Preferred: Six (6) months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Licenses & Certifications * Required: Valid Texas driver's license Special Requirements * Must be able to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and other required training * Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator * Must complete all employee training requirements Physical Requirements * Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds * Ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, kneel, and drive a vehicle * Hand and finger dexterity for documentation and daily tasks Why Join Burke?
