This staff person supports individual, family and community efforts to stabilize individuals experiencing a mental health crisis by: Providing crisis assessment, immediate intervention, direct planning, risk determination for harm to self or other and general mental health consultation. Coordinating with individuals, family members, community members and both formal and informal (professional and non-professional) supports as available to provide assistance to address, directly, emergency psychiatric needs and short-term follow-up. As a Residential Crisis Worker, you will provide direct service to clients as part of a multi-disciplinary team by: providing listening support identifying needs assisting clients in achievement of treatment plan goals administering medication administering risk assessment, milieu management, household organization provide medical record documentation. “This role is required by the State of Maine to have proof of immunization or documented immunity against rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella (German measles), varicella (chicken pox), hepatitis B (optional), and influenza. Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment (trainings provided); then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status. At least one year of experience in mental health field preferred. Technical literacy, knowledge of DSM-V, solid oral and written communication, strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Flexible schedule is required. Computer efficiency is a requirement. Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check. Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
