    Curo Pet Care ("Curo") is looking for a highly experienced Controller to join our team in our San Francisco, CA headquarters. The role will center on overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization to ensure accurate, compliant, and effective financial reporting. We are a team of successful entrepreneurs and doctors using our own capital to improve the veterinary industry. Curo today is a family of over 70 independent veterinary hospitals, many of which have been significantly renovated since partnership or built from the ground up. They are highly profitable and well-positioned for growth with strong support from the ownership team. Additionally, we are currently in the process of integrating cutting-edge systems to align with our ambitious growth strategy, fostering advancement both within your role and across the entire organization. As a key figure, you will be orchestrating the seamless collaboration between the accounting team and the successful integration of these enterprise systems. As Controller, you will: Oversee bookkeeping and accounting for 70+ subsidiary entities, including revenue and cost recording, monthly transaction reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, consolidation, maintenance of the chart of accounts, AP/AR oversight, and preparation of monthly bank reconciliations. Manage the full month-end close and prepare all financial statements-including the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows. This includes supervising data entry into NetSuite, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting, and providing thoughtful monthly commentary on financial performance to the leadership team. Supervise weekly cash management and the AP Department; approve large payables, sign checks, and authorize large wires and ACHs to ensure hospitals have sufficient funds to operate. Work with hospital management to ensure timely reconciliation of physical inventory and accurate presentation of inventory balances in the financial statements. Work directly with the operations team on strategic financial initiatives, COGS management, and related data analytics. Maintain centralized tracking of capital expenditures and collaborate with leadership to evaluate ROI, budget-to-actual performance, and post-investment results for construction, technology, and operational improvement projects. Own and execute the 60-90-day financial integration playbook for newly acquired and de novo hospitals, including general ledger setup, banking configuration, payroll onboarding, and mapping to the master chart of accounts. Liaise with the external CPA firm to support the annual financial statement audit and all required tax filings. Manage the preparation and filing of sales tax returns and commercial rent tax returns. Prepare quarterly lender reporting packages and covenant calculations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all credit-agreement-mandated submissions. Oversee entity-level corporate compliance, including annual reports, franchise tax filings, registered agent coordination, and maintenance of accurate corporate records across jurisdictions. Qualifications * Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you're assigned to work in. * Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). * One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients. * If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program. * Current CPR certification.
