Requirements

Job Description:We are seeking a skilled CMMC Security Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis in Land O Lakes, FL. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and networks. You will collaborate with our IT and engineering teams to implement robust cybersecurity measures that protect our critical assets from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential weaknesses in our systems and networks.
Develop and implement effective cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard data and infrastructure.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and take proactive measures to defend against cyber threats.
Respond promptly to security incidents and provide thorough analysis to prevent recurrence.
Install and configure security software, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to enhance network security.
Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security controls and best practices into new and existing systems.
Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
CMMC - Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Hands-on experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and SIEM tools.
Familiarity with network protocols and secure network design principles.
Ability to conduct thorough security assessments and penetration testing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
Experience working in the energy or utilities sector is beneficial but not required.
