About the Role
Adelphi Research is seeking a Research Scientist/DataScientist to join our Advanced Market Research Group. You'll work directly with the Senior Statistician to execute pharmaceutical market research analytics while also contributing to our growing portfolio of AI-powered research tools.

What You'll Do
Client Analytics & Research Execution
Execute advanced statistical analyses for pharmaceutical market research studies:
Segmentation analysis (cluster analysis, latent class)
Conjoint analysis (discrete choice, MaxDiff)

Key driver analysis and predictive modeling
Perform data cleaning, weighting, and quality control for survey data
Create professional client deliverables: Simulators in excel and R shiny, PowerPoint, Excel outputs, crosstabs, etc.
Support project teams with statistical methodology recommendations
Collaborate on study design, questionnaire development, and analytical plans
AI Tool Development & Innovation
Contribute to building and testing R Shiny applications that enhance our research capabilities
Help develop AI-powered qualitative coding tools for open-ended survey responses
Test and refine chatbot interfaces that help clients interact with their data
Support validation studies for synthetic respondent methodologies (comparing AI-generated data to real respondent data)
Integrate LLM APIs into existing workflows where appropriate

Required Qualifications
Core Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in R programming, including tidyverse ecosystem (dplyr, ggplot2, tidyr, purr, ellmer, vitals, ragnar)
OR strong Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn) with willingness to become proficient in R
R Shiny development experience
Statistical methods: Applied experience with regression, clustering, factor analysis, conjoint/MaxDiff, or similar techniques
Data manipulation: Comfortable working with complex survey data, messy datasets, weighting schemes
Some programming experience beyond scripting: You've built something-a dashboard, an analysis pipeline, a tool-not just run one-off analyses

System Administration
Perform basic Linux and Windows system administration tasks in support of data platforms and as a backup to system administrators.
User and permission management
File system and storage configuration
Monitoring and troubleshooting OS-level performance issues.
Backup And Recovery
Utilize Commvault or similar enterprise backup solutions for database and data platform production.
Ensure all data is backed up as scheduled and test for integrity of backups
Monitor and correct backup failure issues
Configure and manage cloud native backup solutions for Amazon RDS backups, EBS snapshots, and AWS Backup.
Security and Compliance
Implement data platforms using security best practices, including encryption, network segmentation, logical access, and compliance controls.
Assist in configuration of IAM roles and policies.
Participate in audit and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards and controls (Including Nuclear industry requirements, SOX, NERC-CIP).
Collaboration and Mentoring
Partner with architects, data engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

What You Have
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or experience.
7+ Years IT experience in a technical data role with strong emphasis.
Hands-on experience with Oracle databases (installation, configuration, backup/restore)
Familiarity with Linux and Windows Systems Administration
Experience managing cloud services preferably in multi-account AWS environments.
Proficient in SQL preferably across multiple platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Athena
Able to obtain and maintain required security clearances (Nuclear access authorization program, NERC CIP)
Preferred Skills
Experience with Amazon Aurora, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, SQL Server, PostgreSQL

This is a critical, high-impact role focused specifically on the Extraction and Load (EL) portion of our architecture. Key Responsibilities
1. EL Pipeline Architecture & Execution
Ingestion Architecture: Own the design, development, and optimization of scalable data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF). You will move beyond basic "drag-and-drop" configurations to build resilient, parameterized frameworks.
Complex Source Integration: Design robust pipelines for high-volume, complex sources including Salesforce, Google Analytics (GA4), and internal APIs. You will be responsible for building custom connectors (using Python/Azure Functions) when native ADF connectors encounter API limits or sampling constraints.
Snowflake Landing: Architect efficient loading patterns into Snowflake (Snowpipe, External Stages), ensuring that the "Raw Layer" is optimized for cost and performance before transformation begins.
2. Analytics Collaboration & Schema Governance
The "dbt" Bridge: Act as the primary partner to the Analytics Engineering team. You will collaborate on Raw Layer schema design, ensuring that data lands in a structure that is easily consumable by dbt, preventing "garbage in" scenarios.
Data Reliability: Provide the downstream teams with thoroughly documented reliable raw data feeds. You are the guarantee that the data in the warehouse matches the source of truth.
3. Pipeline Orchestration & Optimization
Advanced Orchestration: Design dependency-aware pipeline orchestrations that manage the full data lifecycle, ensuring data arrives in the correct order and at the required frequency.
Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor pipeline performance (latency, throughput) and optimize ADF resource allocation to control costs without sacrificing speed.
4. Engineering Standards & Security
CI/CD Implementation: Define and lead the implementation of CI/CD pipelines for data workflows. You will enforce automated testing and deployment processes using Git/GitHub, treating infrastructure as code.
Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices within the ingestion layer, specifically regarding Azure Key Vault for credential management and PIPL/GDPR compliance for PII handling.
