Job DescriptionThe Database Analyst reports to the Director of Biomedical Engineering. The incumbent is responsible for all database support and reporting activities within the Brigham Health Biomedical Engineering Department, with primary support for the Department's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

This position will be responsible for the data within of the department's inventory management database assuring data quality and integrity and overall database/application performance.

Develop, validate, and implement reports for department and hospital leadership as needed and on a routine basis related, but not limited to, the following.
Department operations performance metrics Department parts consumption and staff resource time Individual and team performance metrics Capital planning and forecasting Regulatory compliance Customer service and management reports Perform backend database updates of varying size and complexity as needed, following appropriate testing and validation outside of the production environment. Analyze operational data in collaboration with department leadership, developing dashboard and reporting metrics for ongoing process improvement. Implements a continuous quality and improvement program for key database data elements, ensuring accuracy of data and ability to comply with regulatory reporting requirements. Observes and suggest database functionality improvement to the department's leadership and MGB BME Information System's group. May lead implementation of approved initiatives. Proactively identifies and suggests priorities for data improvement initiatives. May lead implementation of approved projects. Will be responsible for similar activities of database quality and reporting for BWH Biomedical Engineering managed systems, outside of departments computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as appropriate. May assist Department and hospital leadership with additional data analytics as needed. Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in computer science-related field Minimum 3 years data analytics experience with demonstrated proficiency in analytics software. Certifications preferred Minimum 3 years database experience. Demonstrated knowledge of SQL database structure, functionality, and reporting. Proficient in Microsoft office suite. Proficient in building reports and dashboards Experience driving self-directed projects with proven methodology and high degree of accuracy
