Job duties and responsibilities of the position vary to meet the needs of persons served but may include:

The primary focus of this position will be to help our Instructors teach Snapology programs. Assistant Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills of students by supporting the Instructor in the classroom. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, although not all assistant instructors are required to work with all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology Instructors & leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.
Role & Responsibilities:
Assist Snapology Instructors as they lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities;
Monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
Aid in Management of student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures;
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology;
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies;
Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs;
Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs;
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings as required
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
Desire to work with children
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Programs Available to Assist:
School Classes (September-May)
1-8 hours in length and can occur anytime between 8:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday
Offsite Events
1-8 hours in length and can occur between 8:00am-8:00pm anytime
Summer Camps (June - August)
1.5-7 hours in length (typically 3 hours per day) and occur between 9am - 4pm Monday-Friday
Other Camps & Workshops (Holiday Break, Spring Break, In-Service Days)
1.5-7 hours in length (typically 3 hours per day) and occur between 9am - 4pm Monday-Friday
Special Events
1-8 hours in length and occur anytime
Optional Programs Available to Assist:
Weekend Workshops
2-4 hours in length and occur on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
Birthday Parties
2 hours in length and occur on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
After-school and/or evening Classes (September - May)
1-3 hours in length and occur between 2:30pm - 5:30pm Monday-Friday
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
