This role will be in office 5 days a week. Satellite offices are located throughout the 54-county service territory.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review and assess individualized training plans developed for prime age workers, ensuring that they are realistic, achievable, and aligned with the workers' career goals and objectives.
Coordinate with prime age workers to establish clear goals, milestones, and timelines for completing training programs, acquiring new skills, and achieving career advancement.
Monitor prime age workers' progress in their training plans, tracking completion of milestones and objectives, and providing ongoing support, guidance, and encouragement as needed to keep them on track.
Collaborate with internal partners, including training coordinators, peer mentors, and resource specialists, to ensure that prime age workers receive the necessary support services, resources, and referrals to succeed in their training programs.

Will accept a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Nursing and be enrolled in a graduate degree program with a major in Nursing within one (1) year of employment as a faculty member, or have a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Nursing and at least ten (10) years of direct patient care experience in nursing. Must have a current unencumbered license as registered professional nurse in the state of West Virginia or the ability to obtain license in the state of West Virginia. Prior teaching experience in higher education preferred. Experience must be in the areas of direct patient care in medical/surgical, obstetrics, psychiatric nursing, pediatrics, and/or nursing education. Must be a team player with the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability. Must have current knowledge in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (preferably Microsoft Office) and willing to use technology. Must have ability to travel to a variety of clinical agencies/sites. Must demonstrate a willingness to develop and teach courses online and use alternative delivery modes. Must be knowledgeable about and embrace associate degree nursing education. Must be open to change. Valid driver's license required. The Program and Retention Coordinator is responsible for fostering long-term participant success by proactive case management, retention-focused interventions, and ongoing engagement strategies. The Coordinator ensures that every participant receives the support, encouragement, and resources they need to persist through training, secure employment, and thrive in their digital career journey.
This position is an in-office position to report to one of SOAR's main or satellite offices.
Key Responsibilities
Retention Strategy & Risk Monitoring
Identify participants at risk of disengagement through consistent communication, data tracking, and progress reports.
Design and implement personalized retention plans to re-engage and motivate participants.
Develop early warning systems and performance metrics to monitor attendance, engagement, and completion goals.
Recruitment & Outreach
Represent SOAR, the EKY Runway Project, and ADCA at job fairs, workforce summits, and community resource events.
Build strong partnerships with local schools, workforce boards, and community organizations to expand program reach.
Deliver presentations and information sessions to promote ADCA opportunities and success stories.
Intake & Assessment
Conduct comprehensive intake interviews to assess participant goals, readiness and barriers to success.
Collaborate with the program staff to ensure appropriate training placement and resource alignment.
Maintain accurate and confidential participant records in SOAR's CRM.
Post-Placement Follow-Up
Conduct structured 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins with clients to evaluate progress, satisfaction, and job retention.
Identify and resolve barriers to employment or training completion through coordinated support and referrals.
Document all interactions and outcomes with precision and timeliness.
Progress Tracking & Feedback
Track participant milestones, certifications, and employment outcomes.
Analyze engagement and retention data to identify trends and inform program enhancement.
Provide feedback to leadership to strengthen curriculum, support services, and retention strategies.
Re-Entry Support
Reconnect with participants who have paused or exited the program to assess readiness for reentry to the program.
Develop individualized re-engagement plans and coordinate with internal partners for seamless transitions.
Expectations:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years in case management, client services, or program coordination.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in CRM or case tracking systems.
Experience with retention initiatives or client engagement strategies.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care or motivational interviewing.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
