Position Purpose
The individual in this position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and electro mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production and process machinery, as well as setting up production machinery in an efficient and timely manner. In addition, this person ensures minimum downtime on equipment while complying with company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
Key Accountabilities
Preventative Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance on all production and process machinery in accordance with the established schedule that is determined and assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.
Document any unsafe issues and necessary repairs that are required to insure safe and efficient operation of the machinery
Troubleshoot &, Repair
As scheduled or as necessitated by emergency situations, check, troubleshoot or diagnose any electro mechanical production and process machinery or equipment problems.
Determine extent of required repairs and make necessary repairs/alterations to damaged or inoperative equipment in a timely and cost efficient manner; record total machine downtime and course of action taken to repair machine in the equipment/line logbook.
Partner with the machine operator or designated room supervisor to test machine following repair to insure proper operation.
Replace worn or damaged parts; notify Facilities Supervisor and/or log appropriately to insure timely and accurate machine part replenishment.
In the Facilities Supervisor's absence, when receiving ordered parts, reconcile shipping manifest with order to insure accuracy; upon verification submit receiving slip to Facilities Supervisor and notify of any discrepancies.
Responsible for grounds, facilities and/or building infrasture support systems maintenance, as assigned.
Machine Set Up
React appropriately to production needs and set machine according to production specs and requirements as posted or instructed by Maintenance Supervisor in an efficient manner, minimizing downtime.
Upon initial set up of the machine, run the product through the machine to test and verify that output meets production standards.
Prior to releasing the machine to production, conduct a final assessment of the machine to insure safe and efficient operation.

What you'll do as an Mechanic II:
* Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
* Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Mechanic II:
* Have High School Diploma or GED. Trade school graduate in heavy duty diesel repairs, and/or refrigeration
classes. Beginning level is preferred.
* Have 2 years job experience on diesel repairs, tractor- trailer, refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
* One year documented experience in fleet maintenance or one-year employment with company at upper scale of Class C Technician.
* Posses basic hand tools (up to ½" drive) and tool storage.
* Posses or acquire within 1 year from date of hire a current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) (Test T8).
* Possess a Valid Class C Drivers License. A Class A license is preferred but not required.
* Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head for extended periods of time.
* Possess the following certifications:
* Certification with International Maxx Force 13 Engines.
* Certification in Transportation Refrigeration.
* Brake Systems and components.
* Tractor A/C Refrigeration and Freon Recovery (609 license required).
* Trailer Refrigeration 608 license required if working on trailer units.
* Heavy Duty electrical diagnostics and repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect parts, systems, and airframe as part of routine scheduled maintenance

Work Environment:
Most of the day is spent inside a repair garage. It is periodically necessary to respond to road service calls in all types of weather. Diagnose and tune up or make repairs on diesel engines.

Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire.
Comply with company attendance policy.
Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the job. Must be available for shop on-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a company vehicle.
Qualifications you'll bring as a Mechanic II:
Have High School Diploma or GED. Trade school graduate in heavy duty diesel repairs, and/or refrigeration
classes. Beginning level is preferred.
Have 2 years job experience on diesel repairs, tractor- trailer, refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
One year documented experience in fleet maintenance or one-year employment with company at upper scale of Class C Technician.
Posses basic hand tools (up to ½” drive) and tool storage.
Posses or acquire within 1 year from date of hire a current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) (Test T8).
Possess a Valid Class C Drivers License. A Class A license is preferred but not required.
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head for extended periods of time.
Possess the following certifications:
Certification with International Maxx Force 13 Engines.
Certification in Transportation Refrigeration.
Brake Systems and components.
Tractor A/C Refrigeration and Freon Recovery (609 license required).
Trailer Refrigeration 608 license required if working on trailer units.
Heavy Duty electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Prefer ASE Certification in heavy duty mechanics and Cummins or Detroit certification.
This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and heavy equipment.
* Test drive and Inspect vehicles,
* Diagnose malfunctions; consult with customers on diagnosis.
* Read and interpret diagnostic test results.
* Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
* Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, etc.
* Do routine maintenance, oil changes, battery check, lubricating equipment and parts.
* Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.
* Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, mechanical or electrical equipment.
* Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run correctly after repair.
Requirements - Diesel Technician
* Certificate from Technical or Trade School
* 1- 3 Years Technician Experience
* Current Valid Driver's License
* CDL and DOT health card preferred
Qualifications
* Physical Demands are made on Constant Basis During the Work Day:

Responsibilities
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, graders, etc.
* Repair and replace defective parts, such as bearings, gears, and hydraulic components
* Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance of trucks and equipment either at the shop or on location of a breakdown
