Responsibilities:
Subject matter expert for installations, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical products and equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications.
Travels on-site to operate, inspect, and diagnose malfunctions/defects.
Develop relationships with new and existing customers.
Perform product delivery demonstrations throughout the company and at customer facilities.
Promote the company's products and services.
Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.

Safe Handling and disposing of hazardous wastes, such as, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar material that comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
Successfully complete factory authorized training.
Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Properly complete assigned paperwork as instructed.
Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company's assets.
Maintains a high awareness of technical changes related to the industry and products sold and serviced by the company.
Perform other duties as assigned that assist with achieving company goals.
Requirements:
Must have 7-10 years' experience in heavy duty truck, trailer and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
Must have a valid driver's license, with no infractions in the last 5 years.
Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, forklifts, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.
Must have previous experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, body repairs and welding. Lift-gate experience a plus.
Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, result-oriented, problem-solving attitude.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Must have own hand tools; Hale provides a state-of-the-art Service Truck for outside work.
Must adhere to all Company policies including safety policies.
Travel 50% or greater including out-of-state.

Pipe Fitting Skills: Proficient working knowledge to maintain and install piping, tubing, and hose-type fluid and air transfer systems safely and effectively. Ability or familiarity with reading designs.

Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision from project inception to completion while keeping supervisors informed of daily job status.
Welding: Demonstrates basic skills and ability to weld stainless or carbon steel in both stick and TIG.
Regularly clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift.

A Brief Overview

Summary: The Reliability Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance and repairing equipment in our manufacturing facility. This position requires a high level of independent judgment to diagnose problems; make repairs or adjustments as needed. This role has a great deal of impact on production hours and costs. HTI - Mechanic
Diesel mechanic job in Lawrence, NJ
As a Mechanic the main requirements will be to have a strong knowledge of several maintenance tasks and exercise them with almost no supervision. They will be a knowledgeable/capable resource for completing these maintenance tasks associated with unit turnarounds while maintaining facility equipment. The Mechanic will be a member of the HTI Maintenance Department in the Mechanical Group.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
They will acquire comprehensive knowledge in the use of the hand tools required to perform the maintenance tasks
Ability to assess equipment for problems and demonstrate solutions for fixing
Ability to demonstrate to others in a teaching atmosphere all technical requirements listed above and to document those requirements through written procedures
Interpret and revise AutoCAD drawings for use in the field
Ability to work safely, participate in safety programs, and utilize PPE as required
Demonstrate a good performance record of on time and no unexcused absences
Conform to good housekeeping practices for all job assignments
Perform scheduled inspections on company equipment as required.
Be available for reasonable amounts of overtime
Respond to emergency calls
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/ shift lead.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Swagelok Certificate for Tube Bending and Thread Connections required.
Autoclave Engineering Certificate for coning and threading is required.
Work Experience
5-7 years' experience in a similar role
Working knowledge of auxiliary equipment; namely boilers, blowers, air compressors, and hydrogen compressors.
Working knowledge of pumps and ability to service; namely change packing or gearing
Working knowledge of bench unit hot check system ability to replace parts & reinstall system on unit
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
