POSITION SUMMARY:
Fabricate and weld assemblies, beams, girders, boats, piping, etc., from Aluminum, stainless and copper nickel according to contract specifications and blueprints. Responsible for leading and directing others in this fabrication process. With minimal supervision. Must be in good standing with or willing to join an affiliated labor union.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret all types of drawings and sketches, lay out and assemble with speed and accuracy and with minimal aid of supervision.
Identify material types, cut to length, lay out and fit up welded or bolted detail, show weld sizes, piece marks, direction marks, etc.
Develop, bend, roll, build up, and assemble various types of aluminum, stainless or copper nickel assemblies, piping and structures.
Works with Supervisor to organize and direct crew.
Ability to work to a build plan based on drawings, job procedure manuals and applicable codes.
Has latitude to self-direct for best practice and through-put.
Responsible for maintaining established schedules.

The MECHANIC position is full-time, 40 hours, Civil Service, and Union represented.
Columbia County is looking for an experienced mechanic to join our Public Works team. The Public Works Department oversees a wide range of tasks associated with the county's public infrastructure. Divisions within the department include Road Maintenance, Engineering, and Solid Waste Management.
The Road Maintenance and Engineering divisions are responsible for providing a safe, secure and convenient multi-modal system of roads and bridges with consideration for economic and community development, environmental conservation, and emergency preparation through efficient and effective administrative and maintenance programs. The division maintains the county's 550 miles of paved and gravel roads as well as 93 bridges. Its territory ranges from nearly sea level to 2,000 feet. In addition to road maintenance, the division's staff also oversees road signs, road striping, roadside vegetation, pothole repair, vehicle and equipment repair, and regulation and permitting. The division operates out of its office in St. Helens as well as from district shops in Clatskanie, Vernonia, and Rainier.
DUTIES: Repair, overhaul, and automotive and heavy equipment, machinery, and other standard road construction equipment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Equivalent to a high school diploma. Three years' experience as a general mechanic. Any satisfactory combination of experience and training, which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for the above requirements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the maintenance and repair of construction related equipment preferred. Team player willing to work collaboratively toward shared goals and be open to diverse ideas and perspectives. Receive constructive feedback in a positive manner.

The Position
As an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station, Hillsboro Aviation provides comprehensive maintenance and avionics services for a wide array of aircraft. As a Senior Service Center Airbus H145 Mechanic, you will report to the Service Center Manager and will be responsible for leading maintenance projects and performing maintenance functions primarily on turbine helicopters. This position will also be responsible for supporting maintenance projects on jet, turboprop and high-performance piston aircraft.
Ideal candidates are engaging, energetic, and driven. We are looking for someone who can work independently within their areas of responsibilities under limited supervision. The right candidate also values a strong work ethic and optimistic attitude while maintaining a critical eye for detail and organization.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We require overtime during the week and on weekends when it is necessary to maintain our commitments and keep the shop's schedule in balance.

Ensuring airworthiness and availability of assigned customer aircraft.
Coordinating maintenance logistics to minimize downtime and maximize aircraft availability.
Maintaining a high standard of quality for the shop environment, tools, and records.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Fabricate buildings, beams, girders, boats, etc., out of Aluminum materials according to contract specifications and blueprints with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret all types of drawings and sketches; lay out and assemble with speed and accuracy without the aid of supervision.
Identify material types, cut to length, lay-out and fit-up welded or bolted detail, show weld sizes, piece marks, direction marks, etc.
Develop, bend, roll, build up, and assemble various types of plated assemblies and structures.
