Fixed Route Driver Department: Tribal Programs Program: Transportation Reports to: Transportation Supervisor Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 Weeks Preference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638 Job Summary Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Fixed Route Driver is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of passengers through the operation of a public transportation vehicle. The Transit Driver will follow a planned bus route, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers, collect fares and answer questions about the bus route. Communicates with the dispatcher during the route; provides updates to the dispatcher and reports emergencies, traffic patterns, incidents or accidents. Essential Functions Completes pre and post-trip bus inspections and prepares reports at the end of shift Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations Safely complete bus route on schedule Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations Assist the disabled and elderly with embarking and disembarking as needed Assist with stowing luggage and bicycles Maintain a clean and sanitary bus at all times Immediately reports any mechanical issues with the bus such as brakes, steering, electrical, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.
