**Material Handler I** **A Snapshot of Your Day** We will start the morning off by doing stretches as a team and talk about any safety issues, personnel issues, and what our day will consist of. An MH1 (picker) works with the Team Lead and/or Warehouse MC to get a production order to be picked. The picker will use a scanner and forklift to get this done. This is a hands-on role where youll be the face of our company during deliveries while also supporting smooth day-to-day operations in the warehouse and on the showroom floor. What Youll Do: Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs independently and assist in team lifts of 300400 lbs (such as sleeper sofas, sectionals, and adjustable bases) using proper equipment. Deliver furniture safely and professionally to customers homes and businesses. Load and unload furniture from delivery trucks and handle inventory with care. Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure excellent customer communication. Inspect outgoing furniture for damage and prepare items for delivery. The Material Handler reports directly to the Shift Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or On-Site Manager; depending on location structure. This position supports the overall operation by hand sorting, inspecting, and repairing wooden pallets at the assigned customer's location. Responsibilities: Quality repair of our customer's pallets. Inspecting and hand sorting wooden pallets accurately and efficiently, based on appropriate quality and grade. Loading and unloading trailers using a sit-down forklift. Performing daily forklift inspections to ensure safe operating of the equipment at the start and end of each shift. Moving stacks of pallets to different areas of the warehouse floor. Ensuring loads of pallets are secure and stacked appropriately. Maintaining a clean work environment; sweeping debris around warehouse and dock areas. Dismembering wooden crates and Gaylord boxes.
