We are seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) with strong design expertise and project management experience to lead federal infrastructure, water/wastewater and industrial projects. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both technical and client-facing environments.

As a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer, you will:
Lead the design of medium and low voltage distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and standby generation systems
Perform electrical calculations and power system analyses using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar software
Design lighting, controls, and similar low-voltage systems
Develop electrical plans and specifications for complex projects (e.g., federal, water/wastewater, industrial, transportation)
Conduct site investigations and coordinate with clients, utilities, and code officials
Review shop drawings and support construction services
Prepare cost estimates using RS Means or similar tools
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 820, and other relevant codes and standards
Supervise and mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and objectives using lessons learned
Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Manage client billing, subcontractor/vendor payments, and ensure profitability
Develop and implement project resource plans, including staffing and procurement
Provide coaching and performance feedback to project staff
Build and maintain strong client relationships through quality project execution
Identify opportunities for change orders and repeat business

Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute plans of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115VAC/440VAC/24DVC electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many others
Install electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systems
Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various MIL-SPEC connectors
Pull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connections
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair/replace damaged equipment

Troubleshooting and testing of copper cables and circuits.

Knowing how to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.
Knowing and understanding the use of all tools of their trade such as multi-meters, pin crimper's, soldering and expected to accomplish the more complex tasks associated with electrical installation of cable, military circular connectors, panel box and power terminations, etc.
Familiar with basic computer skills
Familiar with MS-Office programs including Word and Excel.
Perform other duties as required which may include, but is not limited to, grinding, chipping, surface prep, and foundation installations
Qualifications
Must be a Marine Electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)
Must have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)
Familiarity with NAVY Standard Items preferred
Ability to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Individual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric driven
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus).

Controls
Improves existing controls, streamline operator tasks, increases machine productivity and troubleshoots as needed for ongoing issues.
Utilizes DCS engineering stations to maintain and modify machine control logic, human machine interfaces, control hardware and machine communication networks.
Ensures all machine control system device programs and settings are backed up on a regular basis to a known and readily available central location.
Maintains all electrical schematics to ensure changes are recorded and that all library copies are accurate and available to all members of the E&I department.
Assist with developing data acquisition historian reports and trends. Also, perform historian system maintenance.
Perform resource functions for E&I technicians, including scoping, engineering and ordering parts, as needed.
Maintains and troubleshoots all machine instrumentation and electrical systems up to 4200 VAC, as needed.
Configure, troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, variable frequency drives and soft-starts up to 4160 Volt.
Installation, calibration and troubleshooting of pressure, level, flow, temperature, consistency, conductivity, turbidity and pH transmitters.
Tuning of process control loops and machine control systems.
Programming and troubleshooting of DCS, PLC and HMI interfaces.
Perform configuration and logic modifications to DCS and PLC control systems. Modifications will include programming in ladder logic, block logic. sequential logic and statement logic.
Troubleshoot and diagnose configuration and implementation of integrated and stand-alone graphic human machine interfaces.
Troubleshoot and diagnose specification of communication protocols, including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Design and implement process control strategies including regulatory control, control sequence, logic, and advanced control for both continuous and batch processes
Develop, modify, and enhance HMI
Monitor control system performance, which includes loop analysis and tuning
Implement new control system technology
Support process problem solving by identifying sources of process upsets and other anomalies
Develop and maintain alarm systems
Support capital projects. Must be able to support development of project justification and manage a capital project or sub-project related to process controls
QUALIFICATIONS

Five (5) years of journey-level experience in programming of PLCs, electrical and/or electronic instrumentation maintenance and repair.
Ability to demonstrate adequate working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics through a hands-on test and/or a written test that may require certification.
Good working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley PLC5 and ControLogix) is a plus.
