The Opportunity:

Function as a technical lead substation design engineer (substation design encompasses distribution, subtransmission and transmission level voltage classes)
Perform substation design, including physical design and protective relaying/control

This position will support projects located in College Station, TX. It is preferred if the candidate is located near College Station. Candidates willing to relocate may be considered. This role will have a hybrid work schedule, commuting to the office 3 times a week and working remotely 2 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
Prepare design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards.
Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines
Coordinate the completion of the documents in the appropriate time to have a QA/QC review completed prior to the deadline for the project
Coordinate staffing manpower needs weekly with the Project Manager
Review the electrical budget hours and coordinate any recommended adjustments with the Project Manager
Work with team electrical staff to identify tasks and assign staffing to complete the electrical design
Work with the Project Manager to manage manpower needs/timing as well as monitoring the electrical budget on the project
Continuing Education
Beyond any specific outside education classes taken to maintain professional registration, 10 hours of company continuing education shall be required. This would include attending and participating in company discipline training sessions or appropriate approved outside training classes. Although attending vendor classes are encouraged to keep up with technology, this will not count toward the 10 hours of in-house training.

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ General electrical support for Plant Operations and Maintenance departments for electrical systems.
+ Provide support for following plant systems:
+ Breakers, MCC's, Switchgears, Relays, VFD, UPS, Batteries, Motor Drives, transformers, cathodic protection.
+ Administration of several high visibility, Safety oriented programs to include Budgets, Inspections, repairs and reporting across all management levels.
+ Act as lead and support NRG NERC compliance efforts at Limestone plant.
+ Provide oversite, direction and validation of 3rd party inspectors and contractors.
+ Provide oversite, direction, technical consultation regarding repairs and findings to NRG and contractor work crews.

This role will lead and participate in PCB/Hardware development for HVAC equipment for the world's largest HVAC company based in Houston, TX. This role needs understanding of electro-mechanical systems. The PCB Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic devices. They work closely with hardware and software engineers to create schematics and layouts that meet product specifications and performance requirements.
Position Responsibilities May Include:
Technical:
Develop PCB (BOM (Bill of Materials), Schematic and Layout), with relays, RS485, BLE, Zigbee and microcontrollers
Schematic capture
Component selection and symbol/footprint creation
Pre-production design validation via SPICE Simulation
Perform detailed bench and lab testing of hardware
Create and maintain project documentation, such as design specifications and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
Analyze and evaluate design specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Develop test plans and perform testing to validate and verify PCB designs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure successful integration of PCB designs
Optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability
Other:
Interface well with other teams to perform root cause analysis and develop solutions to production problems.

Proficient in a PCB design tool, preferably Altium
Experience in PCB design strategies and techniques to meet strict EMI/EMC
Skilled at schematic capture, component/footprint creation, and board layout
Excellence in Microsoft office tools - including Advanced Excel, MS Project, Powerpoint, MS Word, Automation via VBA and Macro and SharePoint
Shall possess excellent communication, ability to explain complex technical contents, desire to work in diverse, cros-functional team and work towards common objective
