We are currently hiring an ElectricalEngineer in our Building Engineering Division - Energy Infrastructure team in our Buffalo, NY office.
LaBella's Energy Infrastructure team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyses and design. Our engineers are well-versed in all aspects of building and energy systems design relating to a variety of new construction, renovations, and design/build projects for a variety of clientele.
The ElectricalEngineer will work with our team in a lead role on a variety of decarbonization/electrification/renewable energy projects to develop projects in feasibility stages all the way through design and construction. A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, mentor junior engineers, and communicate effectively with clients.
Duties
Design building electrical systems
Design photovoltaic, battery storage systems, and grid interconnection
Field investigations to document existing conditions
Interact directly with clients by completing analysis of design options, cost benefit comparisons, and communicating results to assist in decision making process.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements
Requirements
2-4 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering is preferred
Well-rounded experience in building electrical system and/or distributed energy system design
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
New York State Professional Engineer's license is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range: $70,000 - $120,000 per year

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes: Modeling and simulation professional theories, concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of computer engineering, electronicsengineering and/or computer science.
GS-12: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes: Leading and/or performing engineering work involving electronic circuits, circuit elements and equipment systems; applying a number of diverse electronicsengineering practices, techniques and processes to identify and resolve complex engineering issues; supporting the planning, testing and troubleshooting of electronicsengineering systems or devices; and, developing computer aided engineering analysis and tools in support of planning and designing applications.
