For entry-level apprentices, we have a formal training program designed to help teach apprentices the trade. These individuals will work the summer months at various job sites across Lincoln and Omaha, NE. There are also short-term opportunities to travel as well. This role involves contributing to new site development, supporting operations with engineering solutions, resolving construction-related issues, and performing general engineering administration tasks. Key Responsibilities: Design & Localization of New Data Centers * Review and assist in the development of electrical systems including layouts, single-line diagrams, HV/MV infrastructure, substations, and calculations. * Oversee and peer-review design consultants' deliverables to ensure compliance with engineering standards. * Evaluate specifications, vendor compliance, and value engineering opportunities. * Create conceptual sketches for internal visualization and communication. Operational Support * Lead projects addressing electrical issues, outages, and infrastructure improvements. * Analyze post-mortem reports and operational data to recommend reliability enhancements. * Develop fleetwide upgrade options and predictive failure models. Construction Support * Collaborate with design and construction teams to resolve engineering issues and improve standard designs. * Support dissemination of engineering bulletins and design updates. Engineering Administration * Utilize internal platforms for issue tracking and resolution. * Prepare presentations and reports using standard office software. * Perform engineering calculations and evaluations using spreadsheet tools. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (PE license preferred). * 5+ years of experience in electrical distribution systems and substations (up to 345kV). * Familiarity with mission-critical facility design and construction. * Proficiency in specifying electrical equipment and performing power system analysis. * Skilled in CAD/BIM and cross-disciplinary coordination (civil, structural, mechanical, IT, etc.).
