Role Overview
The Head of Electrical Engineering will lead our electrical engineering team, providing technical excellence, project leadership, and strategic oversight across multiple sectors, with a strong emphasis on K-12 education and healthcare facility design and retrofits. Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead the design and review of electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for lighting, power distribution, low-voltage, and fire alarm systems.
Provide technical expertise on schools and healthcare-related projects (retrofits, equipment upgrades, room changes, expansions, and new wings).
Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Project & Client Management

The Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering inputs integral to both small and large-scale hydro and dam projects. You will lead and mentor teams, support management of production and coordinate delivery of engineering work products often with multi-disciplinary project team members and external stakeholders. You will not only support and help grow the broader engineering team capabilities, but your particular focus will be on continuing the development of our hydropower capabilities and working with key staff in growing the business.

Provide input to those managing and executing multiple projects (small to large) from the proposal stage through to completion
Establish connections with other departments to support and enhance service delivery

About You
To fill the role, we're looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experiences. Some highlights should include:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university; A post-graduate degree is an asset
Minimum of 7-15 years of experience in electrical engineering with demonstrated project management skills (tracking budgets and meeting schedules)
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Washington, Oregon, or California, as well as eligible for registration as a professional engineer in other states via comity within three months of starting.
Previous consulting experience is preferred but not required.

Summary/Objective
The Austin Company performs design-build work for industrial and specialized commercial markets. • Experience in environmental, health, and safety programs and regulations preferred • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in engineering or technical field • Strong experience with overhead and underground distribution and substation design.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws.
